World cup football on the other hand
It's like anything, if you don't understand what's going on, finer detail you wonder what all the fuss is about. Got mate right into formula one, he knows all the engine, chassis specifics, history of the tracks, riders, even tyre evolution ...me it's just a bunch a pricks driving really fast around and around.
Take cricket for instance. I can sit and watch ball by ball, but grew up with the game, I get it, so I find it fascinating..well test cricket anyway, the other forms are predictable and boring.

too much money for a sport that is not clean.
Should be more of that money put into kiteboarding and other smaller sports which don't need doping.
Not good examples for kids to do sports.

i dont think we can say with any confidence that ANY sport where large amount of money are involved is immune to doping. in fact i would say big money sports and doping go hand in hand. its really the nature of money and greed. as long as the pot of gold is waiting, people will be clamoring to get their hands on it. there will always be individuals willing to cast off any sense morality for the sake of profit whether it be in sport, finance, entertainment biz, etc.
i'm pretty sure that american football players are doping to the gills. the only with that sport, is the players union has been able to block testing regulations for certain substances, ahem HGH.

Yeah n all roided off their nuts haha! I say rather than keep winging about who is n who isn't just let em all do it, you'll get records being smashed left, right and centre and it might help elevate it from the worlds shittest, most boring event too the 2nd shittest, most boring event to the detrement of synchronised swimming (or airstyle
).

its only boring if you look at it from the perspective of a bunch of individuals all racing each other, which isnt actually what is going on in the tour. it's far more of a team effort than an individual one. tons of strategy and lots of side races within the framework of the overall "general classification" race. but hey, i am not going to try to convince you that it doesnt suck.
suffice it to say, it is my absolute favorite sporting event of the year to watch, and this coming from somebody who is glued to the TV for cowboys games every sunday. FYI i am not a cyclist.

I don't like these several hours team competitions. first you watch an hours of boring waste of energy and on the final 1% of the track it is the best of the sprinters takes the gold. no suspense, well occasional pile up may lighten up the mood but still boring.
why don't they "pre-exhaust" the contenders on the identical calibrated treadmills for several hours and then let them finish from the equal start line? spectators are not bored, roads are not closed for hours and the bikes or skis or cars have less mileage! win-win situation!
