2015 switchblade and kiteloops

Postby huge » Sat Aug 16, 2014 4:58 pm

I now ride 2010 switchblades, love them except for powered kitelooping (on the way up) which I find unpredictable and either too powerful or not enough...

Anyhow, anyone tried the 2015 switchblade and could comment on its behavior in kiteloops ? would the chaos be better in that department ?

Thanks

I'm sure the chaos will loop better, I've looped the 11m and it loops pretty good, but here is a 9m 2014 switchblade

its loop able but i don't think its going to loop like a C kite, i imagine its a trade off

Jespin - that is some insane boosting! I might be threadjacking a bit, but I noticed the majority of time you are looping the kite on the float back down. Is this what should be done on exceptionally high boosts, instead of fighting to keep the kite over your head by steering it back and forth?

What size are you using? :-) Some local guys do them on the 6m SB, but C kites loop better.

I have had the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and the 2014 sb, sizes 8 and 11. The 2014 loops best of all. The 2012 battled to catch you if you were not high, the 2013s were better, however the 2013 chaos looped better than the sb of that year. The 2014 chaos imo does not loop better than the sb, (although I only tried the 9m) even the 11 sb loops fantastic, the 8 is a bomb and and also jumps higher than the chaos.

Important also that the technique in riding the sb and chaos differs. So you would see a rider that unhooks mostly, doing smooth great looking kite loops on the chaos and when a sb rider takes the chaos, it takes a while to get used to as you have to change your style of riding go get the best out of it. It has always left me going back to the sb.

Unfortunately it does not answer your question whether the 2015 chaos will loop better than the sb, however if you are used to looping the 2010 sb, just going to the 2014 sb 8 will be a huge improvement and you may not need your question answered.

I use 6-9-12 sb 2010

I am gonna try the chaos and the sb but I guess I will end up buying another sb quiver afterall, good old reliable sb (plus I don't like the fact that chaos is not made in size 12)...
