Liquid Force Pad/Straps

Postby raoul » Wed Aug 27, 2014 7:54 pm

how are these 2 and which one is better:
* Bliss ( http://liquidforcekites.com/old/archive ... ads/bliss/ )
* Comp ( http://liquidforcekites.com/old/archive ... pads/comp/ )

I am looking for something for my wife's board. All the systems she has had have always been too wide no matter how much we set the straps.
Her shoe size is 6-7 Woman sizing

If I recall correctly, the bliss is the same as the luxury strap, just a smaller size and different colors. the tightening mechanisms are velcro, it stays tight very very well and is pretty comfortable

the lux/bliss straps have gel heel pads that are designed to dampen the ride a bit, it's nice if you are in a choppy location because they reduce the vibrations through the board somewhat.

the comp straps have a shock absorber in the heels that are better for taking hard impacts. the size adjustment is changed with an allen key, so once you get them to a certain tightness that you like you will almost never have to readjust it because it's locked down

Thanks for the response.
my question is how much you can adjust the width of the straps to suite a narrow foot.
In most the pad/strap systems I have seen there is no such option.

I haven't seen any straps you can adjust the width with, but these can be tightened quite a bit. I have size 10 feet with the L/XL men's luxury straps, and I could tighten them to the point where I couldn't get my feet in. You should be able to tighten the bliss (or the small size for other straps) down enough that they will fit her, that's the benefit of a strap that comes in multiple sizes

I have the Comp straps like in your link. They do have some width adjustment. Maybe about a half inch or a little more. The strap part does adjust with a screw but, you don't need an allen key. The button on the top turns the screw. I have size 7M feet and am using the S/M size on the narrow setting. I think they are probably a little too tight for me at this setting. Also, the strap is a little stiff (hard) at first but, mine seem to be getting softer and more comfortable as they break in.

Hey styleito,
Can you explain more about the adjustment you mentioned with the button on top.
The Bliss does not seem to have this button, so do you think it would be better to go with the Comp?

Only issue is that the specs say:
--> for the Comp: SMALL/MEDUIM = SIZES 6-9
--> for the Bliss: SIZES 4-9

Notice in the picture the button is hinged. Lift the button as if standing a coin on edge and use it to turn the screw. Pull the strap up or push it down and then re-tighten the screw. The strap rides on 2 plastic tabs that pass through the chassis. To adjust the width, you loosen the screw, pull the strap all the way off, move the tabs. In the picture the tabs are on the wide setting.

I don't know anything about the Bliss straps so, I can't be of much help with a comparison.

If you're in the US, you can get either of these straps for $50 from Real. For that price you could just get both and use which ever she likes the least as a back-up.

Good Luck.
