Whats the word on the flexi foild storms? I've been looking around for a review but can't find one. I see conflicting reports on there ar - some say it low, but on the flexi site they rate the 16 at 6.5 which is pretty high isn't it? it's all so confussing...

It's a high aspect kite. Not recommended for beginners.
I've never flown one but the reviews I've read have been good.
The kite came out early on in the season and has been improved apon by other kites.

Hi.
In a recent test in the german mag kite-boarding.de the Storm was what they called the "Surprise of the test." "The Storm has all the qualities of a kite in the top-class."
In short:
- good in lower winds
- fast, direct and precise turning
- good lift
- very good depower
- equaly good handling for advanced and pros
- two LE-valves
- good reinforcements
- the valves seem to be very hard
Sizes:
flat - projected - AR
8.0 - 5,9 - 6,6
10.0 - 7,4 - 6,3
12.0 - 8,8 - 6,2 (tested size)
16.0 - 11,8 - 6,2
The kite is rated as an expert kite.
Points: (min 0 - max 5)
Processing: 5
Safety: 2
Bar: 3
water relaunch: 5
upper windrange: 4
lower windrange: 5
depower: 4
lift: 4
go upwind: 5
That is what they write. Hope it helps.

Kite companies have different ways of measuring aspect ratio. Some use leading edge length by cord, some leading edge by area, and maybe some other ways too. Just look at some pictures and judge for yourself. I think there is confusion about what is high aspect. Some kites are what I would call freaky high, then some are high, and then we have medium and low. The freaky high aspect ones can fold and twist into knots during really bad crashes. The Storm is not freaky high.

thanks for the reply....
I'm not a begginer kiter, i just couldn't find much info from independent sources on the storm!
It sounds good though!
I like the "not freaky high" aspect ratio... thats good...
Does anyone know if there is any plans for a larger size than the 16? seams a little small for the largest size ina range these days...

What's weird, though, is that the smaller ones seem to have a higher AR???

I think the above is a typo... on the flexi site the 16 is rated at 6.5 and the 6 at 5.5
