Hello All,
I am currently looking for a new kite that would offer me great boosting and hang time mostly for hooked tricks.
However i am looking at the Torch (7/10/12) rather than an SLE kite like the pivot or park. I'm indeed tired of having bridle and the feeling that comes with it along with potential tangling...
Do you think going for a C kite like the torch would be doing too much compromise VS a SLE just for the sake of additional responsiveness / boosting that it brings ?
Thanks for your advice

Torch is epic for boosting. I had 8,10,12 were the best kites I ever owned performance wise. I am saving up to buy the same quiver 8,10,12, the 7 has less range than the 8 and depending or your size and maximum wind strength the places you ride 8 might work better for you.

Thx for your answer. Target is to ride up to 40/45 knots... Currently i can take my 8 Nitro 4 up to 35/40 knots.
About the Torch have you ever tried it in waves, can it still work a bit ? I know c kites dont have those pivot turn ability but i am wondering how the torch behave.
Cheers

C kites in smaller sizes work fine in waves. Takes a moment to get used to not having all the depower, but you learn to keep the kite higher when you turn so it doesn't pull you off your line. The up sides are great unhooked wave riding, the down side is the potential for 5 line wraps.... but those are rare for experienced riders.
Torches boost really well.

Torches are gnarly kites for jumping...I'd say for hangtime the flatter kites and especially the pivot will be better.
