being involved in developing the Kitebar-System I can't understand how you can call this revolutionary and one year of developing.

The X2 bar works this way, every setup with a Wichard works this way.
The problem was always that the depower and the leash wrap around each other.

Do many twists and the big gusts come and you want first to spin the line back manually (how can you spin it back anyway ig you don't use something like a wichard which can spin?) and then let go of the bar to be safe?

Sorry guys, ain't new.

Or do I get something wrong here?

In the bump and Jump system, both the leash and the chicken loop go through the bar. Therefore, you can spin the bar freely ( I think). Then you have the same safety release than on the X2 on the small loop of the chicken loop, and a quick release at the end of the leash that you attach to your harness.

correct, but below the bar will be a twist of depower and safety, which you can only detangle with your hands.
Then you can use the safety like Naish uses and don't have to guide the safety through the hole.

Let's be fair and wait until better pictures arrive. May be we can see what's happening then.

I can see that the safety goes through the hole and it was explained in the article above, that the safety goes from above the depower adjuster through the hole down to the harness.
So basically like the Naish X2 system, but the safety through the hole.
It will not change the twist under the bar when the bar will be rotated back.

But as I said, maybe I'm missing something, if not, it is not revolutionary....

Hi Toby,

Yes, we do not think that you get th whole idea.
Granted, there were only so many solutions possible to come up with a leash that is always "on" and does not tangle when doing spins. Several ideas have been tried along those lines (pun..).

What is different here is that the central line is guided from a special attachment on the front lines, all the way down and through the bar.

You do not even realize that the small leash line is there, the bar behaves pretty much as if there was no leash. The Naish system starts twisting on a bigger and bigger radius if you spin the bar around it.
On the Bump And Jump system, the leash only spins around the chicken loop line, we assume that if you kept spinning forever, it would become a problem, but no more than the limitations brought by the kitelines themselves.

Why it took a lot of testing, mostly tuning, for several months there were tangling problems, then the system had to work on lines with slightly different lengths, and not be affected or loosened (creating sag and the possibility of upper entanglement) when you use the depower tuning system, lots of small details take a lot of time, back and forth etc...

The "REVOLUTION" is that all riders should now be able to wear a leash.
When we look at pictures of the Naish riders, we do not see any safeties being used, why if the system works? (disclaimer: we might be wrong on that since we do not pretend to have seen all available pictures). We hope to post pictures of Sebastien "Catman" Cattelan in action with the system soon.

Pierre-Marc,

thanks for taking the time to answer the questions. However, you will find that the problem of the leash wrapping around has been solved by the kiteproshop bar (or ist kiteshoppro, I can never remember

Hi Pierre-Marc,

thx for this detailed explanation.
So I was correct in assuming that the leash will wrap around the depower line.
Off course, if you spin only in one way all the time, it will be a problem. Otherwise it should work. The question now is, how many spins can you do until the safety doesn't work anymore if you let go?

Can you do loaded (unhooked jumps) with your bar?

Thx for further info.

Hi,

No because the leash and the depower rope stay all the time parallele they never twist together !

See you

Gilles
