I just bought an Aero II and was planning on learning to kitesurf. After seeing this guy orbit the earth, I'm thinking I should return my gear and stick to windsurfing! Jeeezus that jump looks freaky!

Actually, my board, kite, and I are waiting on my UDS rig to FINALLY ship so that I get started!!! Naish still has no availability in Europe.

From what i have heard, i believe mark shinn said that the aero2 has better low end than the x3, so its actually better for jumping/cruising/etc on the low end of the spectrum.

The AeroII DEFINITELY has a better low end than the X3-the X3 has a better top end-just really depends upon your local conditions and riding style as to which is preferable-I'm kinda' off my X3s and wold probably prefer the steadier grunt of the AeroII-bit too late now.....

the aeroII is now replaced by the boxer and the V3.

Wait till Toby posts his interview with Mark Shinn. There will be plenty of information about that.

Of course it is so - the X3 dont have any low end, but huge windrange.

But this just means you pick one size bigger, and get INSANE jumping out of this !

Only when up in the sizes, where a bigger kite dont help or turn very good - will you get more out of a more low end kite.

So its just two different styles/choices of kite with each its advantages - you cant say that you jump better with one type.

to Peter

hello Peter,
I guess you are right with that theory, but within one exception:

in low winds you need a well profiled good turning kite. Size for jumping is not so important than the cut of the kite that has to make shure that you are early planning.

I think of a low wind range of about 8 to 12 knots. Above that an X3 will do good work. What youd think about that ?

That was sure some jump!!

Trouble is, it looks like Adam was basically "lofted" half way through a normal jump! So he was basically out of control!

I just read the post about the guy being killed ,from a lofting, over land.

Made me think----If you are lofted over water, wow! great jump!!!

If you are lofted over land, bad news!!!

I would be seriously worried about a pro being lofted unintentionally!
