I have some problem with speed 4 lotus 6m kite.
On some gusts or mistakes in jumps ( when I loose some tension in the lines)
the kite twists, if you get what I mean.
like one half of a wing is twisted.
And I don't know what to do in such situation, I was forced to bodydrag to beach, land ,untwist and start again..
The wind that day was 20-30 knots. quite gusty .
I never had this issue with bigger speed sizes. some times small part of the wing is twisted because of the sand on the start. and doing some loops usually helps to untwist it. But in the 6m size, the twist is almost half of the wing.
Any ideas how to handle this situation?

i don't have a lotus 6 but usually a good method to untwist tips if nothing else works is to backstall the kite onto the water with a certain amount of speed.

Try yanking the stearing line hard and sharp.

Sometimes, rarely, I've had a wingtip fold into the bridle. If this is what you mean, you can grab the steering line on that side and shake that side of the kite. It helps if you can get the kite flying with that side down. That way gravity will help the wingtip fall out of the bridle.

Perhaps end of this video helps you? I know it is different kite but methology is the same.

But if you mean by half of kite twisting a "bikini top" -type of twist, it can be resolved by landing your kite (also on water) and pulling correct lines in correct order for 2 meters, so that you get the twisted side of kite to twist again but now in the direction which opens it.
