Just curious if anyone has good snow/ice at the moment.
If this weather keeps up, I think I'll just break out my kiteboarding gear and find out how cold is too cold!

Hate to brag, but I had a most exellant session in a farmers field on 12/31 in kalkaska. I just asked and he said ok, but he though I was wierd. Winds were 25 to 40 mph. I was over powered on my B3 at times but the snow was semihard pack and I could cut a nice into it. I had to travel 25 mile drive to kalkaska because Traverse City area lost its snow. The lakes in the area are starting to freeze, but the lakes that are iced over are a glare of ice. The best part of my trip is when I went to say thank you to the farmer. He told me all his neighbers called him about me.

glad to hear that someone has been able to make it out...we've got zero snow. A bit of ice on the lakes (too thin), it's raining as I write this, and it's supposed to be 50 degrees tomorrow...but I'm not bitter!

Just waiting for some wind here in Big Rapids. I saw someone out on the intramural fields of campus (Ferris) yesterday but didn't have time to stop and say hi. I've never gone in the snow and I'm a newbie on the water, but I'm pumped to try it. Unfortunatly I only have an inflatable kite. Will this be a problem?

Lot's of local (Michigan) information for snow kiting. As for inflatable vs foil...sounds like that's personal preference. I'll be using a mix...an Ozone LittleDevil 6m foil, a slingshot B3 foil, and a slingshot torque 88 (12m flat) and finding what works best for me...may even try my 16m AeroII...but think I'll start with the smaller kites and see if I need that much power.

Sunday 1/18 its suppose to BLOW, gust to 35 MPH
from the NW. Will be on Lake Skegamog which is close to Traverse City. Access point is on a rd off M72 East just before Bates. There's a good ft of fresh snow on the lake it should be good.
