Kite question of the century

If you are sitting on a really high bridge, flying your kite over your head, can your fly it right around under your feet. Please think carefully before answering.

Assuming the bridge doesnt get in the way and you dont get pulled of it, sure... the kite will zenith in the vertically down position (this is where the bridge would get in the way)

Because you can, and because the question was a hypothetical or the poster has a stunt kite, it can be done, is awesome fun, and everyone who actually likes to fly kites, not just into kiteboarding for the "look at me" factor, should do at least once in their lives.
Same with indoor kite flying, but maybe thats for total addicts like me?

yeah it'll fly upside down

we fly our kites on top of a 25m steep sanddune and can get them to touch the beach at more than 45 degrees

the kite will prolly fly better upside down as it is being gravity assisted

when using 10m lines would a loop be possible?

u know like paragliders do, ah forget it it's too dumb

the answer is yes... because even if there was no wind at all the gravity would create the pull... of course we are talking about LEI kites here...

interesting 2 c what foils do. maybe PMU would care to share his great theories with us.

Forget the bridge, and think of a hot air balloon.
That could work pretty well no?
Aside from the fact that you would move at about the same speed as the wind and therefore have no wind for your kite.

the kite should go down for sure but would it go up again???or should it lose to much speed??
