More infos this morning with a Q&A newsletter:

How long does the battery last?
The battery duration depends on the rider’s weight and speed. On average the ride time is one hour riding at 15 mph. The battery is easily interchangeable.

What is the time to recharge the battery?
2.5 hours. Just plug it in and go.

What is the max speed?
Max speed is about 25 MPH (40 KPH)

What does it cost?
Let’s not spoil all of the fun at once. ;)

Also, I think this will be considered a personal watercraft under US coastguard rules. I am a bit concerned for Manatees in Florida when people start racing these on our waterways at 25mph.

Jet-propelled watercrafts come in many sizes, but the most common for recreational boaters is the personal watercraft (PWC). A PWC is a small vessel that uses an inboard jet drive as its primary source of propulsion and is designed to be operated by a person or persons sitting, standing, or kneeling on the vessel rather than inside the vessel. The U.S. Coast Guard includes personal watercraft in the group of inboard vessels less than 16 feet in length.

Just wondering what happens when you surf a wave and switch the propeller off to save the battery ?
I tend to think there would be a lot of drag.... :
- unless a brushless motor can be used as a generator and create energy
- retractable propeller blades could be used

You can set the ESC to brake so that the propeller doesn't 'windmill' and create huge drag

Why are they not using small water "jet" engine and instead using propeller ?

I hope so, this would be a huge benefit for swell riding!

I called lift, i also thought 5k. Try $12,500.

I know we are an affluent demographic, but i cant see paying this much for that. Might as well get a jet boat. Too bad, i was super psyched for it.
