Hi there,
I have just moved from Spain and I would like to do kitesurfing, I brought all my stuff with me but I do not know where I am supposed to go since I have no idea about the good spots depending on the wind.
In addition to this I wonder whether there is any group to surf together. You know, it's always better than being alone just in case something happen.
By the way, I live now between Brussels and Gent.
Could anyone give me any insight?
Really appreciate that!
Cheers,
Pedro

You just moved to a country in which Kitesurfing is forbidden above 6 Beaufort..... Believe it or not.
Most Belgian kiters therefore drive to France or the Netherlands...

I do believe there are still some rules for kitesurfing in Belgium.
As far as I know you need to have valid insurance and proof that you know how to kitesurf safely (iko or other license)
Check
http://www.kitesafe.be if you speak Dutch.

If I were you, I'd get in touch with one of the kiteclubs.
http://www.vyf-vvw.be/nl/kitesafe-clubs ... en-369.htm
Or ask at hanglos.nl. Dutch kitesite, but with Belgian users as well, there should be more local knowledge. English is fine on hanglos.

You can kite the whole coast of Belgium, and there are plenty of kite/surfclubs in Belgium to join. During the summer months there are swimmer zones where you are not allowed to kite, so you will have to kite in front of one of the kite clubs in the surf zones. Also, it is obligatory to have special insurance and indeed a "proof of level of skill" to receive your lycra with membership number (green/yellow one if you are intermediate/advanced, red one if you are a beginner).
I suggest you choose a kite club on a beach closest to your home, go there to get some more info, and if you like the club: pay the fee to get the membership (which normally includes the obligatory insurance), and then you are all set to go.

Hello to all Netherlands surfers,
I am new in Luxembourg. It looks like the forecast for this Sunday is for a strong south wind.
I will be happy to learn where is a good beach to surf if I come from Luxembourg.

On the coast? IJmuiden Slag.
South is tricky in Holland.
Check
http://www.kitehigh.nl/spots/Nederland
Z is south. Hope this helps.
IJmuiden slag is fine in south wind. A long drive though....
If you the app called Windy you'll find IJmuiden slag as well.

I decided to gamble on Brouwersdam. Great atmosphere, many surfers, very gusty wind. Just at the beginning I met two guys from Arlon (my neighborhood). I know they are going to Dhkhla next week. Please if anyone happens to meet or know these guys let them know that the guy from Luxembourg would like to join them in the future - even for the long journey to the Netherlands.
