How many foilers worldwide? And what %age of all riders do they represent?
I don't know....
But what I DO know is, that "we" (eventhough I also ride other boards) represent around 95 % of the good time on the water, meaning even if only a fraction of all kitesurfers are hydrofoilers, the foilers are out more than 95 % of the days, as it works perfectly in less wind, so if like here we got all kinds of different wind strengths, the foiling scene takes up 19 out of 20 days

I guess we are around 40 or 50 hydrofoilers on my home spot.
Some of them are world champions, others pure freeriders.
Since there's only one spot where you can ride around here (Almanarre) during summer (July/August), as soon as there's 8 kts up until 30/35kts, you'll have hydrofoilers on the water.
I've had a few solo sessions but they were in very light wind, in the middle of the week and during winter !

You're missing at least one decimal place in that figure. Considering there's 40+ entries in the race this week in SF.

Conneaut, Ohio has one guy who has several foil boards with various mast lengths. He has Slinghot Hoverglide masts, and he keeps offering everyone a chaqnce to try his boards. He is still something of a beginner, just practicing jibing to toeside and riding toseside. But I know at least two or three other people tried his boards, then decided to take up hydrofoiling themselves. So we now have maybe 6 or 8 people learning hydrofoils partly because of him.
