some good points which I will try the next time around.

The owner was busy rescuing his kite from the rocks ;-) All turned out well at the end but I just could not manage to ride both of the boards upwind well. Riding the TT and somehow holding on the the strapless worked a bit but just not long enoguht to make it back upwind. I ended up dumping the board close to him once he had his kite under control. But I just felt bad not being able to manage the situation well as dealing an additional TT is always easy.

Thanks for your suggestions. G
you should have rode them both like water skis ! Thats good you tried though. I can carry a TT while on my strapless but not the other way around

Riding strapless and holding the TT is your best option. If for some reason you can't do that ( go Joe, not good at strapless) and the TT has no fins you can put it on the surfboard and body drag on top of both. I wouldn't recommend doing this with fins on the TT though.

Rescuing boards is usually about getting them downwind back to the owner, rescuing them upwind is actually a lot harder as it's easy enough to kite downwind with one hand but upwind requires much more kite control.

Your best shot would have probably been riding the surfboard with your thumbs in your foot straps with fingers on the bar, that way you can still control the kite with both hands.

I was riding a brand new board $600 at a flat water location. I didn't need help. A guy on a twin tip started going for my board. I kept screaming at him to leave it alone but he insisted on trying to get it. All he did was put 3 holes in my new board w his spreader bar ! Then he passed my board off to me and flew his kite through my lines ! haha I immediately pulled his QR and leash. He came to me on the beach asking me WTF? I said, you already ruined my new surfboard ! Do you think I was going to wait for you to ruin my new kite too ? I showed him the damage he did to my board and asked him how he wanted to pay for it. He just put his head down and walked away. I guess my point is, if you're on a TT and you see a surfboard adrift it will most likely make it back to shore w out assistance. They go down wind super fast and getting beat up by shore break is better than being rested by a spreader bar. Ive never lost a surfboard but I've lost twin tips. Im not saying you're wrong for trying to help but sometimes helping is the worst solution. Like beginners trying to help beginners ! OMG ! Kitemare for sure ! haha
