Feasibility of the ONE for surf, foil and kitesurf

Postby tautologies » Mon Oct 02, 2017 9:12 am

So looking at this board, I am wondering if this could be the one board to foil, surf and kitesurf on? I am not talking about just having one board when I am at home, but for travel space seems always to be an issue and obviously there are chances that the wind fails.

Could this board be the rescue?

I guess this link has a bit more info: http://www.naishfoils.com/hover-60-surf/

Not sure, had a go on a F-One Mitu convertible 5'10'' and it felt huge for foilboarding. Mind you I am used to riding pocket boards when foiling...

Vanhunks have just made one of their kite surf boards the white diamond into a foilboard / surfboard. 5ft2 might be a bit short for surfing?

Thanks guys.
I'll check it out. Though I get that it might not be ideal, do you think it is at least feasible to have a board like that...or will it be asking too much? I guess the foil board could be a converted TT as well. Not that I know anything about shape a foilboard has to be my sense is that the board itself plays less of a role.
I like the idea of a board that can do many things without compromising too much. Maybe two out of three is good enough?

:-)

How about skimboard for small airplane package space and weight? Skimboard could be almost (close to symmetrical but not quite) used as a TT with pads if you attach inserts, small surfboard or wakeskate-style foilboard. And no wind use it as a skim.

Slingshot "Coupe" was billed as Surf/Kitesurf. But for my style of kitesurfing, it just seemed too big. If you are strapless, maybe it would make you happy surfing. But again, it seems a little big for good wind strength kitesurfing. And any board with the reinforcement can be made to work for a foil board.

yeah but skim and surf are different. :-) But I see where you are going with this. :thumb: Maybe the Paipo would work. I am not about to cut into my paipo tho. haha

Yeah the more I think about it the more I get it might be a pipe dream. But having two boards is definitely feasible. I hope :-)

My Mitu Monteiro 5'11 convertible with the Ketos foil Freeride 2 is a killer combo and I can use It both for surfing, strapless freestyle, strapped jumping, and foil boarding. Yes It is big for HF but I can travel with only one board and when the wind is very light I am well powered with a 12 m kite like the Flysurfer Stoke. I never miss a session. :jump:

Cheers

Carlo

I just drilled 4 holes in my old bws drifter so I could bring one board to Maui but still sneak in my foil. :-)

Slingshot converter is the fancier commercial version. Based on angry swallow. Too small to paddle surf though.

I think a tomo vanguard may potentially be the one board. ..small enough to kitesurf and foil, but also paddle surf with 6 to 12" shorter than your normal surfboard.
