8 to 12 are FS and 14+ are RS?
Really curious what you got and which use, guessing small kites for freestyle and bigger kite air style?

it's a tough one and depends on your local condition. I have considered 10m-14m quiver in the past but not really sure now how it will work out, and now that I foil I probably wouldn't do it.

anyway i don't have any advise but here are my local complaints ;)

7: (tried it once underpowered) too small for my local condition which tends to have too much lull and gust.
9M: most used kite but often slightly underpowered, would be better off with a 10m, though I fly C kite which are rare in 10m size, and like to kiteloop so not sure it's good idea ;(
12: nice size but haven't used it that much this year. I have done many 9m sessio where i should probably have been on 12.
14: sweet spot is really narrow for my local condition where wind shift quickly in those light conditions.
foiling: now that i am foiling should probably get some foil kite and get rid of the 14.

new quiver I really want a 10m but then i like to kiteloop the 9m... might be better off with 8m and 10m and just loop the 8m.

1 quiver I would get 10m
2 quiver 8m and 10m
3 quiver 8m, 10m, 12m.
I need some sort of specific kite for foiling though.

7,9,11m 5 line C kites (JN Primadonna) - covers 15knots to 45.

13m Ozone Chrono V2 cover 7-15 knots. (I'm a skinny git). More than 15 knots = hanging on for dear life but lovely jumps!

13m C kite when I don't feel like using the foil kite. Too old to be worth selling and will go from 10 knots and boost by 12ish.

Actually it is 8 and 12 RS and 10-12-14-16 FS, I do like the kind kites for gusty strong wind as I am not getting younger and we dont really have that many 5-8m days on my local spot so never get used to it, and wanted a 12 for old school as it is the main size I use the most, but love the FS for freestyle on the rest. The big ones I use on snow, and I do prefer freestyle on snow so FS makes the natural choice for me there.
If you like kite looping the 9, but the power of a 10, well you should for sure test the 10m FS, sooo nice for looping!
Talking about quiver I just recall how crazy many older kites I have also... man I need to put some old ones out for sale.

Anyway I guess quiver and kite model is a lot personal preferences and depend on local conditions. But somehow I really love the 2m gap between kites, really makes you always have the perfect power, never just in between as I felt I used to some times before having a bigger gap.

Perfect is not a very 'smart' term..
Buying kites with anything else than unlimited budget is always a compromise.

A cost effective acceptable quiver?
Depends on TT/SB/HF boards and conditions you frequently encounter/want to be able to ride in etc.

For me this results in some second hand stuff with some variation.

Old Waroo 14m with some struts removed.
10m Nitro for jumping and TT or upwind long distance.
10m Trip Strutless
9m OR Cypher
7m OR Cypher
5m TBD

I just alternate even/odd sizes when I upgrade.I don't sell the older ones.I run 7,8,9,10,12 rpms and a mega looping 9m fuel.Next up is an 11 rpm.Ill be spending more time figuring out which kite to rig than actually kiting!

Perfect can mean very different thing to many different people .....sure for me kite size is one part of it ( 5-6-8-10-12-17 )...but the other part I equally like is not to have to dick around when rigging / de-rigging
So yes I spent a lot more cash by having all my kites complete with their own bar/lines that I never detach...that's what makes it even more perfect
All have their own lines lengths & bar widths suitable for their sizes and wind conditions they are intended for on strapped surfboards
I've always done it that way for years and years.......packing it correctly with bar 1.5 foot outside of kite's central LE (in case you want to do bar/line maintenance/repair or simply quick rinse)
