Most kites come from a factory in China, and all they do is change a few things to make them for different brands. Core is out of Germany though, and maybe a few other brands from other areas.
Didn't watch the video Then? It starts with "core kites" "shrilanka"
Well the video is wrong, on Core's official website it says Germany
Guess the label on my kite is wrong too then. They probably just ran out of the "made in Germany" labels

There's nothing wrong with Sri Lankan quality. They have specialised in sailmaking and kitemaking factories. Most of the sails made by North Sails are made in Sri Lanka. Probably only the 3Di sails aren't made there. I wouldn't be surprised if other reputable sailmakers also have their factories there.

Core is made in Sri Lanka. Same factory as North and Eleveight. Crazy Fly is actually the only one producing kites in Europe. But then again that factory has less experience then the big ones.

Not exactly how production works. A lot of work for the brand, it´s not like there is a standard kite that each brand tweek small changes to to call their own. Thousands of different prototypes, testing, tuning, simulation and drawing on the computer. Factory only sew what the designer say, and the brand buy the material ahead.
It´s like saying all houses are the same with small changes. Undermining all the work of architects.
Generally if you go in a meeting with a Chinese factory, they have different specialties, but you have to give them every single little detail to get it right. There is so much work getting things right. Everybody who have produced in the east know you have to specify everything, or they will change small detail to save cost and increase their own profit, even with a penny.

Just the leading edge is 200 pieces sewed together, and thats different for every model and size. So imagine all that work! Kind of explain why kites cost a bit...
Core has it's own factory in SriLanka

edit:Nope I was wrong. Rectified in later post. Misunderstood someone else a while ago.

Oh, you want to see a "Made In" statement? Just go to their website and read the front page, go to their facebook and read the front page, look them up on google. It's there plain as day right in front of your face, you can't miss it.

Well the video definitely implies that Core kites are made in Sri Lanka, no doubt about that. Then you look at their websites etc. and they definitely claim to be MADE in Germany.

They are either flat out lying or hopefully just lost in translation and they really mean "Designed in Germany", just like the Iphone is "Designed in California" but they wrote "Built/Made" instead.... pretty farfetched though

Bummer

Ok I just did. Now what?

Core is from Germany, that's where the HQ is. That's where they design the stuff. But the kites are made in Sri Lanka. There are 3 factories there if I'm not mistaken. The Zian factory, GSLanka (mostly North) and another one (also from North Sails) that does Core, North, Best, Eleveight, and some small brands.

Just because a bunch of Indians are making their products doesn't mean their products come from India. Their original products come from Germany, just like it says on the front of their website, just like it says on front of their facebook, and the countless other times it's on the internet. You can read right?

In the video all the workers in the factory are Indian... Are you saying they are located in a factory somewhere in Germany?
