Unfortunately, quite a bit of content on this subject was lost during the crash. Pending updating new information on kitebeaches, I will toss out some general comments here.
For folks visiting Orlando, most agree that the inland lakes are not particularly riding at given uneven inland winds. Cocoa Beach is about 1 hour by car to the east along Beeline Hwy. and Tampa/St. Pete are about 2 1/2 hours to the west.
For some content on Tampa/St. Pete, Jeff Weiss of kitemare.com had put together some good resources at:
http://www.kitemare.com/Tampa%20St.Pete ... arding.htm
Jeff also teaches in Cocoa and has prepared some information at:
http://www.kitemare.com/Cocoa_beach%20Kiteboarding.htm
Laitham Kelly, the FKA Cocoa AC could also help out with local information and precautions at:
laithamkellum@321kite.com
Lots of realtime, archived wind information and other related info appears at ikitesurf.com
an east coast weather site appears at:
http://www.nettrust.com/surf/
Have a good trip!

Hello Steve,
Some info about kiteboarding in the Central Florida area appears at:
http://www.kiteforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2299441
As to shops, on the east coast in Daytona north of Cocoa is:
Sandy Point Progressive Sports
http://www.progressivesports.com
on the west coast in the Tampa area there is:
Watersports West
http://www.funonwater.com/WS/index.html
There are no doubt other shops in the area, so let us know guys.

I think this is as small a forum division that we can make for now on kiteforum. There is an existing forum for SW Florida at the FKA website:
http://fksa.org/index.php?c=23&sid=8bae ... 93f675b34a
It is just sitting there ready to be used by Florida kiteboarders. You can talk about things that are important to local riders, meets, conditions, epic sessions ... lots of possibilities. Why not pass the word to other locals and get them onboard?

I noticed that SW Florida is predicted to have some wind this weekend. I was even thinking about a first roadtrip to Tigertail. Thanks for your precautions.
Would you print and complete list of suggested guidlines for riding at the Park? I would be happy to write them on your behalf based upon your input if you would like. They could be posted here, on the FKA forum of this site, perhaps added to the kitebeaches.com writeup and also included on the FKSA.org site to really try to get the word out there. If you would like me to call please PM me with your number and a good time to call and will work it out in short order.
Thanks,
