Says you. My harness chews up my shorts and my t-shirts, so that IS a factor. Also, I don't wear undies under the wetsuit so I'd rather not end up butt-naked if the suit should get ripped. So I guess that's a vanity point ...

do you ride better if the shorts match the helmet, the life jacket or the board? and does the leash have to match as well?

Better, but not as good as if I just wore my wetsuit. Oh the price of vanity.

A girl at our beach wears a skirt over her wetsuit, I think that may be a fashion first.
