Sof x Tornado 12m
A Longer review for you:
My weight 80+ pounds
hight 6ft
Board so far: 128 Underground (06)
I fly my 12m in winds from 10-35mph ( to this day)
Usually very steady winds here on Oahu.
Last day 9-13 max
Very light wind and I was the only guy out.
The kite flew very nice and has a huge low end range.
I don't like light winds and it would be better to be out on a 16 or so. But I also don't like big kites so much.
Anyway, it worked and I made it back upwind.
I like to over-sheet my kites and ride fully extended on my arms with max power, only de power with the de power strap. The strap on the SofX bar is super long, so a lot of play there.
To de power, I over-sheet the kite in order to make it stall. Works well.
In strong winds like last week, the kite worked so darn smooth, I was real pleasantly surprised how stable it is. No wobble, flutter or wired bar pressure.
It was gusty ad I had no problem with getting yanked, well there was no yanking.
In waves (that day about 6ft Hawaiian, 10ft face) I trimmed the kite for more de power, and the kite just stayed in the wind, with no pull. I was able to just surf. It was a bit windy to fully surf in comfort but it was real nice. With some C shape kites you seem to constantly catch up to the kite which makes it fall out of the sky. The tornado does not seem to do that and just keeps up with the wind. I need a bit more practice with it in the waves, but so far it worked very well.
Setup on the kite with 5th line is super easy and and idiot proof.
Lot's of safety features, 5th is easy to remove if you prefer 4line flying.
Carbon bar is nice, simple and light.
Very long de power strap and easy to use and reach. Nice big chicken loop and removable chicken dick.
The lines are color coded and come with 5m extensions ( if you like to ride with 30m in light wind)
Kite is a full one pump and it is a breze to pump up due to the small leading edge and struts.

well, hope this helps
