This stopper ball rig is BAD-ASS. Forget the thumbscrews, allen keys, etc of other stoppers. I ran q-line from the swivel right down to the bottom of the depower rope, as I also use the 6mm tube over the depower line mod to reduce depower line wear. Just leave an extra inch of play in the stopper q-line line if you are rigging it to a new depower line - I find this stretches a far bit the first couple of times you use it until it settles down.
This mod is SO easy, and the stopper ball totally locks in place, you can spin the bar against it powered, it doesn't budge - every waroo bar should have this mod. I put the black ball (comes with both the regular waroo bar and the conversion kit) between the bar and the red ball (which I removed from my old C bar depower QR), I smoothed the upper edge of the central hole so it doesn't wear the q-line, and this totally locks the red q-line against the red ball when your bar is released. Super easy to adjust whilst riding when bar is not against it. THE BUSINESS.
Perhaps the side hole in the stopper will wear, but until it does, it works really well. About the chicken loop end: I used a blunt nail to work the weave of the depower rope open, then rolled up the end of a plastic straw so it was a point and pushed it through the hole. Easy. Chop the rolled up straw end off with scissors, and feed the q-line through. You could probably do this a few times if you felt the need, but the bar doesn't get that heavy so I don't think it's needed.

can you do a little video to show how it works, and how to set it up?
Would be a great help.

How do you knock the stopper out of place when you let go of the bar?
I just doesn't seem to be a very safe mod. A big benefit to flat kites is there ability to dump the power.
Try this instead. I call it the "Pig Tail" You'll love it easy to do. Safe. You still have total depower of the kite and and you can spin your bar and untangle the lines with out depowering.
"How can a mod do all this and still be safe?" you ask.
Come on over this way and I'll show you.
It's so simple you'll be saying to your self "Why didn't I think of that."
Tie a piece of leader line to the middle of the bar. I should be secured so that it can't slip towards either end of the bar. Leave about a 15 cm (6 inch) tail coming from the bar. You want it to be about 15 cm when it's finished so you may need to make your line longer to start and cut it down shorter after. If you set this up so that the tail hangs below the bar you wont even know it's there when you are riding.
You are going to add a black stopper ball to the end of this. . Black is recommended because in an emergency when you are looking for something red to pull you don't want to get confused. Also you are going to add a plastic sleeve cover over this line. Same sleeve some guys have bee putting over the Centre line to help reduce wear. Only we are going to use this to help keep our little pig tail stiff to prevent tangles with the centre line.
It should look something like the picture below.
Here's how this works. Remember it's a very simple idea and you still get all the benefits of a flat kite.
After you have done a back roll, front roll spin what ever. Reach down and grab the ball on the end of the Pig Tail with one hand while keeping the other hand on the bar. Once you have a hand on the pig tail spin the bar with the other hand. The light bar pressure of the Waroo should allow you to hang one with out the Pig Tail being yanked out of your hand. The Pig tail will wrap it's self around the centre line like a curly pigs tail. Now grab the bar once the lines are done unspinning. Now let go of the Pig Tail. That's it
The the plastic sleeve and the short pig tail should make the Pig Tail fairly stiff and want to straighten out immediately. So it will untangle it's self with out the rider having to through it around the centre line.
I told you it was easy. And you still have the safety of the big depower.
Safe riding....
I wish I worked for best.

cant you guys just spin the bar in your hand.
turn it half way round then fire it round the last half, it's really easy, even lit.

I don't know. Maybe I can.
But I still have to wait a few more weeks for my Waroo's to show up to try it.
All I can do for now is dream up these stupid little ideas cause I've already sold my other ones. Once my new ones show up you wont hear much from me.

fo - The red line is pretty tight through the hole in the side of the red ball. It's not going to move by itself, needs a helping hand so to speak. Well, at least not until the hole is worn, and I'll have ample notice of that. Best part is it's super simple to put on and take off. Just two knots and retie the depower.
J-man - Cool idea too, it would work as bar pressure is not bad at all. Hope you get your kites soon.
SQ - you are right, which is why I never got around to doing it on my stock 45 waroo bar. But now I had to mod my old '04 55 bar for my new 16 W, thought it was worth trying - and it works well.

The way I have it set up it reduces the travel by about 15-20 cm. it' is not just unspinning the bar I also like to limit the depower As I sometimes depower it too much without the stopper during certain tricks so this helps me.
The set-up I made can't slip down like the more recent one by NAG, as Fo was worried about, but has less range of adjustment.
As far as safety goes with 15 cm less travel there is a little less depower, but this is not always bad as when I release to a handle pass leash the kite stays flying longer, long enough to get reoriented aftre a crash and get the bar back witht the kite still in the air, but not too powered. With tthe stock setup it comes down sooner so I like my set up a bit more.
When it is really windy I just slide it all the way up for maximum safety
The idea wasn't completely orginal as I got it from some guy who posted something he made with a heat mouldable plastic, which was probably a copy of the slingshot which I only saw recently. I think the only different thing about my idea was to use a thin line and the orginal thick line so to make it a really eadsy mod to do.
