Atention

A) YOU NEED:

- About 90 cm of thermo retractable tube (diameter 5 mm). You can buy it on electricity shops.
-A lighter.

B) LET´S START WORKING… (It takes just 5 minutes… ): :thumb:

1) Release the bridle from the leading edge.
2) Cut 45 cm of tube and insert the bridle into it. (That´s why you need a 5mm diameter tube as the bridle is thicker on its end.

Place the tube on the area where you normally see wear on your bridle lines and using the lighter apply heat on it. It reduces its size and adapts totally to the bridle line!!!

Image

The rubber tube will be fixed to the bridle line completely. You do not need glue or anything like that after the heat is applied.

Finished, the bridle line will now be similar to what it was before but it will have rubber protection on it. No more wear will ocurr on your bridle lines and the bridle will work better as the rubber tube makes it work better because reduces the sliding of the pulley.

Image

Try it and if you have any problem and you do not like it you can remove it very easily without any damage on your bridles. You can replace this tube from time to time if you see that it deteriorates but the lines will mantain in perfect condition avoiding the risk of a broken bridle while riding.

Try it! Is really easy and cheap!!

It doesn´t add weight, you can replace it whenever you want and everything works better.

Bye! (Best should grateful me with a free Waroo pro for such a good solution for all 2006 waroos!!!! :bye: Do you need my address??? 8) )

This is useful for all the brands and kites that use bridles and pulleys where the wear appears.

You can use this kind of rubber tube for many purposes, I was just trying to show how it is very useful for the people using Waroos, but is also useful for the people using other kites.

Please do not use this post to blame or piss other companies, kiting is a nice sport for nice people. :thumb:

Thanks for the tip Besto.

Great idea,this stuff is TOUGH!

It is often used on kites,on rope ends and such.

I believe it is known as "heatshrink tubing"
Available from electrical suppliers and boat chandlers.

Besto:

Thanks for the info. I just had to replace the bridle on my 12W and my buddy had to replace the one on his xb. I am going to try the tubing on my kites and pass on the solution.

Great idea. I was going to just replace just a bit more than the section of rope that wears, but this prevents the wear which is even better.

I will put it on my Sonics and Waroos and maybe upgrade the pulleys at the same time.

Thanks,

Ed

You need to be careful with this stuff. I used it to sleeve my Q-Power pro lines and it wore the line right at the end of the heat shrink tube. Might not be a problem with a bridle line, but it wore all four of my kite lines.

Hey Besto

How long have you had this in place? How long does the heat shrink wear for? I have had problems with tube splitting with wear in a similar application.

Paragliders used to have heat shrink but it was found to cause lines to break by make a sharp edge to bend over at the end of the tube.
