Review for Nobile 666 Ext 2006 139x46

Times tested: 11+

Good: -Lowend
-Performance
-Pop
-Loaded
-upwind (!!)

Bad: -riding upwind switchstance
-powerful landings need practise

Review: with the ext, nobile basically created a new kind of board.
their approach for a lightwind board is different from others: they took a board you can do anything with (loaded jumps, powered riding) and made it as big as possible.
not 'just' building a board that will go in almost no wind, they built a board that can do everything in as little wind as possible.
With the ext you'll be shooting upwind with a 12m kite when all the others are riding 16's and small boards. you'll have a better angle and go upwind better, so you'll jump a lot more.
with a smaller kite, lots of unhooked tricks are a lot easier to learn.
the upwind angle and lowend are just amazing. not as good as the f.one fiftyone or spleene door, but this board feels a lot smaller than it actually is and is fun to ride.

it is the first board i came across that is truly for every riderlevel. the pro can practise loaded handlepass-moves in low wind while the very beginner can practise the waterstart. amazing.

no brand affiliation or anything else on that one - i tried this board for three times and simply had to buy it.

I've been riding the EXT for approx 2 months now and it is a great board. Will get going at the same time as other light wind boards but doesnt feel like you have a canoe strapped to your feet.

It is a big board but doesnt feel big when riding it, the only time I realise how big it is is when I switch straight back to my 128 Misfit after riding the EXT. I've found it easier to learn new moves on than my Misfit, but that is probably due to the lower wind that I use this board in.

One other thing to note is that I lent my 666 EXT to my friend who is learning (not up on the board yet) and he got straight up on it on his first go, then carried on doing decent runs for the rest of the day. He's stoked with it.......shame he can't afford one of his own

I haven't

The major drawback with the EXT is the price, which means that I will have to stick with my battered misfit as my regular board

Heard good things about the smaller 666 range

it depends. the ext will be the better board for the very first tries and you'll be flying upwind in no time.
but as soon as you'll be good enough for a small board, you'll want one.

the 555 128 is the only 555 i've ever ridden. it is quite cool, but too small for a total beginner.
