So anyone out there have any updated reports on the D-Wave?
I'm thinking about this board vs. a traditional directional.
Any input would be much appreciated.

as a d-wave owner for 3 months 195 lbs expert kiter
this board offers so much my converted surfboard does'nt:
built tough as nails meaning it can be jumped, shipped, even dropped and it won't cost you a weekend repairing it -
did i mention i can travel with this without BS fees and wifely comments- it fits in my NSI golfbag!
most importantly it rips - the perfect size for light and med wind wave down the line then blast upwind fun.
for heavy wind (26 knots+) wave action i still prefer my Airush hammer becuase the D wave is flat bottom. a coolthing about this board is when you mess up it does not wash to all the way in to the beach due to the low volume!
i would say this is the most under rated design to hit the market-
hope this helps

Would the D-Wave be too big a board for a 140 to 150lbs rider in light to mod winds?

I've had the D wave (now called skim surf or something) for about 6 months now.
I ride it in all conditions, strappless!
I tried the straps once but took them off right away.
The board works well with bow and c kites.
I never go to the beach without it it has saved my day a lot of times.
Best buy in a long time.
ps where can I purchase new fins for this board?

how does it compare with other light wind options- glide, door, traditional skim, surfboard for low wind?
whats your normal board/size and how much more bottom end does the d-wave give you?
have you tried it with small fins?

I agree more info would be nice.
Any videos anywhere? The board is nicely displayed in a vid on the Skywalker site, but no riding.

I normally use my Stonker wakeboard with bindings, but when things get light i grab the D Wave.
Also when there is chop or headhigh waves I use it.
It rides in pretty low wind but not as low as a "real" skimboard because of the fins.
I guess when you remove the fins it will but the purpose of this board is to be able to slash the chop/waves and do sharp bottom turns.
I used to ride a cabal skim but I haven't used it since.
Be carefull with airbourne tricks because landing on those fins ain't no fun

Hello guys,
The 2006 D-wave is the 2007 SKIMSURF. The new 2007 D-WAVE is totaly different then the 2006. It is longer and narower, way better for wave riding. This board was designed more for the waves in light condition and strong conditions. I like riding this board with fins and straps. Now if you realy want a Skim Surf you should go with the SKIM SURF which is shorter and wider. Then you can remove the fins or the straps.
If you realy want to plane in light wind I would recomand to go with the SKIM SURF because it is wider and you can remove the fins to plane faster.
Also concerning accesories such as fins, you can always contact me at dimitri@eclipsekites.com
I am working on a wave riding video with the D-wave. I will post it on the web site soon.
