Fantastic Batwing 12…First flight
This is an exceptional kite.
It appears to be built like a well made Swiss watch, panel layouts leading stitching, one pump, and several rigging options. Solid bomber proof construction .Very well designed.

Last Saturday I put the kite in the air around 12:00 PM this was a very nice day the winds came up around 1:00 and stayed very steady for the entire afternoon (See Graph) the kite is exceptional stable in light wind with no tendency to Hindenburg or fall out of the sky.
It needs around 6mph to stay in the air with very little input. I was able to stay upwind in 10-12 mph on my Skywalker 135 light wind board, soon as the wind picked up to stead 12 I was on my 130 Skywalker tearing upwind.

This kite screams upwind like no other I have flown, it’s really amazing how much further the upwind angle appears to cut.
Up till now my favorite kite was the Rampage 2 9.5 after flying this kite I have a new favorite kite. I have not had a chance to fly it in higher winds but I can’t wait to test the top end.

This is a really fun kite to fly its amazing stable, but fast and responsive at the same time.
Relaunch is even easier than the Rampage 2 which was stupid easy to relaunch. Even in light wind under 10 mph pull one rear line and the kite just turns up on it side in relaunch position. This kite really put a smile on my face it’s really fun to fly.

I certainly think there’s going to be a lot more very excited Batwing riders very shortly.

X

Somebody actually paid for one of those?

I'm in Cabarete, been all over the US, OBX, Corpus, and SF, haven't seen one on the beach yet, no surprise.

Was there any other kite that you liked after trying the Rampage or are you pretty much stoked with Windwing?

I have flown 07 Waroo which I liked, also the 06 Xbow, & Contra's I prefer no pullys on the kite and did not like the xbow bars as much as the simple Waroo bar. So to answer you question yes I'm stoked with the current Windwing designs, the Rampage 2 and Batwing.

Give it a chance and I bet you will be surprised. By far one of the best jumping and hangtime kites to date with unbelievable upwind and relaunch.

And if you were in the Gorge a week ago, you would have seen a few. Oh yeah! They were just released for sale. Of course there is no surprise if they aren't really out there, huh?

Not really I heard you were to high... he would have missed you if he was looking at the water.
John said he has never seen anyone go so high in the Gorge...

You'll need to tell us more. How does it win your best jumping and hangtime criteria?
