Windwing C+S,
How does the sizing on the Bat Wing work? Is the 12m Bat Wng about the size of a 12m bow kite or is it about the size of a 14m bow and the cut outs give it about as much area as a 12m bow?

Sizing is a real complicated issue when you add the performance characteristics of all the different kites. The Bat 12 if you measure out the sq.m flat area is about 11.7m. How that compares to a 12m bow kite? That depends on which bow kite you're asking about.
But if I interpret your question correctly, the Bat does have the wingspan of a 14m bow and yet have the flat area of a 12m. We do know that the Bat 12 has the power of a 14m bow with less drag, more speed and more range than a 12m bow
Hope this answers your question.
PS. We will definitely hit 3rd Ave either Thursday or this weekend.

I fly back early Monday and will be at 3rd if the winds are up. I doubt I'll make it to Sherman. Are you suggesting they'll be at Sherman on Monday or at 3rd? I assume you don't mean tomorrow, but presumably the 30th.
In any event, you shoudn't go out of your way to accomodate me. I'm plenty curious to see and even demo the kite, but it's not like I'm the best rider in the area.

well, here it is :
The 12m is awesome, but way to much power for me and my riding style.
I let some guys try it out and the one kid, who needs to be sponsored, made it look unreal.
Huge jumps, old school, heart attack - style.
Was real cool to watch.
amazing power, sick hangtime,
and for the size pretty darn quick.
For me, I need a 9m
Just my style of riding.
(kiting)
If you are looking for a kite with sick power and easy use, go get a Bat Wing
Real kick ass stable kite, all you want and expect from a kite. and it' s only a 12m, not a 15m hunk of ...
I need a 9m for what I do, but all I can say is:
Windwing: well done. !
If you get the chance, try it out.
I have the 12m here on Oahu,
you like to try...?
PM me or call me
You got my #
Aloha
