like i said before i was interessted in the new gaastra jekyll...
now i got the chance to fly it, and i just wanted to give you a short input...
i hope somebody else will ad his comments, so we get a real test. because this is more a small check
The guy who has it on the beach flies with the 8 and 12 now for the last 3 weeks and he was totally stoked... he said, really easy to handle, plenty of power in the jumps ...
so i made it. he got a break, and i got his kite
just checked it out for 10min in really gusty conditions, but it was nice. The depower is brilliant. then i compare these to my old slingshot kite this is another kind of "sport".... if the gust hits you, and you dont want the power you just let go the bar up, and thats it... really nice...
it turns really nice and predictable. made a view kiteloops, and man: this kite has power!!!
if you start doing wavriding like me, you want a kite thats gets you in the wave and then takes care about itself.... and i really got the feeling this kite can do it....
now the hangtime. i´m not that into this hooked jumping story, but man, this jekyll could get me a little bit back to the oldschool stuff...
it´s a little bit like paragliding. then you jump off and kepp the bar you just fly fly fly fly... amazing, let the bar go up, and you get down more early...
all around the bar n´kite quality looks good. nothing special, solid good. for me it dont have to be fancy and shiny it has to work, and then it is broken, i want to replace it. gaastra made all stuff easy to replace.
all together a nice kite, and i´ll look around for a good deal.
Pete - if you get this - thanks for let me check your new baby.
cheers, jimbo
