Kitesurf Worldcup Sylt News:
First day of SEAT Kitesurf World Cup Sylt
Event opens with 66 participants from 13 nations waiting for wind
Westerland, June 22nd: The next five days Westerland devotes its sea promenade towards the kiteboarding community. Perfect sunshine but too little wind for the kiteboarding sport could be the summary. 66 riders from 13 nations were entering the promenade for the the opening ceremony.
At 3 p.m. race director Markus Schwendtner entered the first start sequence for a course racing. Due to some clouds the wind just was below to allow the racers to perform the course. So the next days will show the results for the third stage of the Kitesurf Tour Europe and IKA World Cup Racing.
Stand-Up-Paddeling, just hang out in the SEAT World-Cup Village or public viewing were activities of the day. Tomorrow the race chief is optimistic to have suitable conditions also to show the newly established GPS tracking system which will display top ten riders on a big screen. The live show and replays will be available on www.kitesurf-worldcup.com for the spectators.
