Thanks for the feedback and that is one thing that I really liked about the Hifi was that it was a super stable kite. It never felt like it was getting away from me and was a very predictable ride. The only reason that I wanted a change was that it is a 5th line kite (and yes they have great advantages in low wind and for safety) and I am looking for a C shape kite that operates on 4 lines and has the safety of a bow (or as much as possible). I am very tempted to just buy a judge but the Ozone C4 are getting glowing reviews that it is hard to pass on it. I am also considering the Nirvana's also (5th line again) as they are just the new Hifi but that puts me back to where I started.

I would not go with the current Nirvanas. Not enough power for me and lacked the C feel altogether. The Judge is definitely a great kite that has the benefits of a C kite but still maintains user friendly for everyone. Its my favorite kite epic does. I have put people on mine with out any C-kite experience and they absolutely loved it.

If tried/ridden Fuels, Parks, RPM, Best GP, Torch, Nirvana, and older Cs. The Judge is definitely one of the better ones (depending on what your looking for, it might be the best). Its perfect for me and my conditions.

Do you have a picture of the chickenloop released and maybe a shot of the mechanism... how it works, how to put it back together. is the push away spring loaded, etc...?
Pete

Hello Pete,
Yes I do have lots of pictures of the BAR & Chicken Loop mechanism but I want to finish the CL video also so you guys can have a better idea on how the new EPIC CHICKEN LOOP works. Can you give me at least 3 days and will have all these for you.
Thank you for your patience.

P.S. I have been testing it in 8 to 15 knots, in 16 to 26 knots and few days ago tested it in 28 to 37 knots and it works great. But need to do few more test on it so I am 110% happy with it for our production run. I also have sent few of these new CL to different dealers, schools, and team riders to test it and see what they think about the new CL .

Had a chance to briefly test my friend's new Renegade 3G 9m in gusty 22-28kn conditions and really liked it overall - this is a great all-around kite that I wouldn't have any problems recommending to any average Joe, wave-rider or a beginner. You just hook in and go ride with zero-adaptation time and I've never seen my friend jumping and back-rolling as easily as he was doing it first ride out on the Renegade (previously he was riding Cabs).
The things I didn't like are: lack of feedback on the bar and the lack of smoothness. Currently I fly C4-s, so back to back a C4 flies like a knife through somewhat melted butter - smooooth - one of the reasons I like these kites so much. The Renegade on the other hand does all the same, just that the butter is somewhat frozen and has bits and pieces of something tough in it... sorry for the analogy... And as far as the lack of feed back goes - i'm sure it's just a question of being used to it, again - back to back with the C4 - these I can fly totally blind-folded, but the Renegade required a good deal of looking at the kite to know what the hell is it up to. Not too thrilled about asymmetrical color schemes either - but that's just me...
The things I really liked: light bar-pressur, power and power delivery, windrange, gust-handling and relaunch.
Epic bags are totally awesome!!! Hands down - the best bag on the market!
Great job Dimitri, though i'd kick Momi's butt so he does a better job on the "finesse"!

Hello Mr.alexeyga, and thank you for your honest post about the RENEGADE 9 kite (3G). This is how we are able to improve on our products because of people like you. (Thank you)
Probably the reason why the RENEGADE 9 (3G) had "lack of feedback on the bar" is probably because the outside lines were too long. Maybe you had the depower strap pulled in which will make the kite fly differently (like driving a car with the hand breaks on). Or maybe the lines on the kite got stretch that you needed to make another knot 6 to 10cm higher then the previous knots that are on it. And probably that is why it had some lack of smoothness.
Concerning looking at the kite, this is because the R9 is so fast that you need to pay attention to were the kite is until you get use to. But also you can always set it up on the slow settings and use it on a 45cm setting on the bar instead of 55cm. Me personally I love a fast kite and want it on the fast settings. But wake style people and average riders use it on the slower setting so you don't have to pay too much attention to the kite. But once you get use to the speed of the kite you won't have to look at it because you'll know where the kite is from the perfect pressure the bar has.
But once again thank you very much for your time and feed back.

On another not, I would like to congratulate Jessica Winkler for becoming the #1 ranked woman in North America and #8 in the world for the world Kite Speed event.
Congratulations Jessica.

Thanks for the feedback Dimitri, I'll pass your suggestion to my friend, though considering how well-powered he was I can hardly see a need to shorten the rear lines. Besides, the kite was originally purchased for his 14-years-old daughter, so with the bar pressure that light - it's just what the doctor has prescribed! ))) Enjoy the weather, it looks truly EPIC for the next few days in OBX! :thumb: I'd be packing my car by now if I hadn't taken a sick-day last Tuesday. :baby:

Spy shot of the new bar! I got my hands on one and this just might be the best chicken loop on the market if it works as well on the water as it does on my hand. Very well engineered, ergonomic, and beautiful. Love the new suicide ring, removable donkey dick, swivel, QR... pretty much everything about it is perfect. I can put it back together with one hand in less than a second. The bar additions are very nice as well such as the new stopper and flag option.

On a side note I repaired my bladder today in less than an error. I love how simple Epic made repairing the kites. ie all the one pump simple attachments.

WOW! Less than a second, with one hand!? Even by the standard of this thread that is quite some claim. Please could you show us your near speed of light skills by posting a video of you putting the chicken loop back together, with one had in under 1 second.

I'm sure that the designers at North will be pleased that you like their suicide ring.

As for this being the best chicken loop on the market, it's not even close.

Kev, I thought we'd had this discussion and you said that you were not a troll or a hater?

North do not have the monopoly on kiting or on kite and bar designs. and if you have never seen or used the quick release how can you say that it's not even close? you have no idea.

Again this is why people don't believe a word you say. You diss things with out any knowledge, you then say stuff like prove who you are, and then won't say who you are or where you surf. Just that you live in the North, Travel and go to kite shops?

Tell you what buddy, this weekend is looking epic for wind. (yes I used the word epic in a sentence) why don't you PM me and we can put this thing to bed, with a chat, a surf and a beer. I may be big but I'm very friendly. (not in that way)

Paul
