Hello Dj A-Ron,
I don't have the new EPIC CHICKEN LOOP KIT conversion yet. I am still working on the final CL prototype. But will let you know as soon as we have it ready.

You are welcome Mr.davesails7,
As you know, we can't make every body happy but I will say that most of the people that had the chance to try them were very impressed and decided to buy them or put them on their wish list.
Can you tell me what models of EPIC kites you tried and the conditions. Because I would hate to take the INFINITY in 20 knots or the RENEGADE 5 in 15 knots.

I had tried the Screamer 9m a few months ago for a downwinder to KHK. The wind wound up being a little light for the size probably about 18 knots. By the time I got to KHK, it was in the low to mid 20's, so I was getting fairly powered on the 9m. Then you let me ride your 12m screamer and I was really powered!

Then just the other day on July 4th in around 10 knots at KHK, I was riding my 18m Dyno and Mako 140. Not very powered on the small board, tried jumping, but only was getting 5 or 6 feet off the water. Then tried the Infinity with the Mako 140. Didn't have enough power to stay on the Mako 140 with the Infinity, but the Infinity was turning WAY FASTER than the Dyno.

Then tried Infinity with the Oxygen board, and that helped a lot, was able to ride that board. Then you went out on the Infinity + Oxygen board and you took off like a rocket! I don't have much experience riding very wide boards like the Oxygen, so maybe I just wasn't riding it correctly. You sure had no problems, haha!

If I was looking for a light wind kite for riding waves in around 10 knots I'd definitely choose the Infinity over the Dyno for the faster turning, but I mostly ride the Dyno in less than 10 knots of wind with my race board. Maybe I need to try out the Racer kite some time as a better comparison to the Dyno. I can definitely see why people like the Infinity, but just not what I'm looking for.

This was the Infinity V1, and the screamers were the 3G screamers

Dave-I think the Infinity V2 really is a different kite than the V1, still nice and fast turning, but sits a little further forward in the window, goes upwind better and jumps even better.
Infinity is too much kite for what I want, but the Renegade 13M LTD is a "mini Infinity" and is proving to be a great lightwind choice for me at 175 pounds, same super floaty jumps as Infinity.
The Oxygen does take a session or two to get the feel for, it is relatively short for it's width.
But that is why it feels so much like a normal kiteboard, meaning that it jumps way better than any other lightwind twintip I've tried, it just releases off the water nicely.
The Oxygen feels fast and smooth, light and flexy, a lot like a normal sized twintip, only it planes super early so you feel like you are cheating!!
If you tried only the Screamer 9M and 12M, then I can understand you saying they may not be your cup of tea.
I've had a bunch of buddies demo the Screamers, and the fellas that are used to more tame kites usually think the Screamer is a bit much.
If you get a chance, try the Renegade kites...still very exciting and powerful like all the Epic kites (Dimitri never designs sleepy kites) but more easy going and the right kite for gusty locations. Renegade is the best mid aspect three strut all arounder I've tried. Dimitri doesn't talk about how well the Renegades jump because he likes his Screamers for boosting, but for me they are really easy jumping kites, easy to get it right and hard to get it wrong.
I also find the Screamer 10M LTD 3G to be more forgiving, so more versatile than the regular Screamer lineup, it has a more C shaped profile, more square wingtips and just feels a bit "softer", but turns really fast and provides loads of boost and float.

Oh... so you are Mr.davesails7. Now I remember that day with the INFINITY v1 that you guys demo from "KITTY HAWK KITES". Yes you need to try the INFINITY v2 next time. Also if you are into RACING then check the RACER kite. This kite is something different then the INFINITY.

Had an amazing time yesterday trying some EPIC Kites prototypes here in the Outer Banks.
The Kites are super responsive and deliver great power. The Screamer 10 Limited Edition 4G (v3 and v4) prototype i was using relaunched very easy and turn real fast. And as you can see on the pictures, the pop is huge!
Cameron was on Renegade 7m "Greek Edition".
And an other guest was trying the Sceramer 12m. I think he s about to get one and become part of the EPIC family! :wink2:
Here are some pictures from this session.

Back in April, 8 of my friends and I headed down to OBX for some kiting (yes, this is a delayed post, but I've been swamped since I got back). Dimitri was very generous and let us use a 10M Ltd Editon and an Infiniti while we were there. And for me personally, that made my trip. The winds were great for us, so I got a lot of time on the 10M Ltd Editon. Unfortunately, I never really got any time on the infiniti (that's what I was hoping to try the most as my local conditions are mostly low wind), so I don't have many comments on that one. What I can say about the infiniti is that it looks very well made. The construction was very impressive given how light the kite feels (I'm comparing the weight to my 16M Switchblade). I look forward to giving the Infiniti a try perhaps on my next trip down there.

As I said, my time on the S 10M Ltd Edition made this trip for me. I came out of the water after my first session on it and was telling everyone how I had never jumped so high and for so long, ever (I soon found myself making that same remark after nearly ever session on it that followed). It put my cabrinha's to shame. The upwind tacking was effortless. In fact, one of the characteristics I liked most about it was how effortless it was to do everything. On the second day, Dimitri had us follow him to Kitepoint (which was an awesome spot - if you haven't been there, you must make it a point to go!). While there, I had the longest session of my kiting career (2 hrs). If it hadn't been for the wind dying down, I know I could have stayed out for at least another hour. For me, the most impressive part about that session was not the length of time on the water, but how I felt afterwards, when I came back in. I was not fatigued. I was not short of breath or anything. And let me add that I was not just out there tacking back and worth and trying not to exert myself. I was jumping like crazy and working on air transitions. I was giving the same crazy effort I put into all the sessions I've had over the last six years on my cabrinha's. The difference is, I have never been out more than an hour and 15 minutes on my cabrinha's (Switch 16/Cross 9/Omega 12) - To boot, after each one of those, I would come out of the water feeling like I had just been in a tug-of-war competition with my kites the whole time. I'd be extremely fatigued. The Screamer Ltd Edition was a game changer for me. By the end of the week, I was jumping 20-30 ft high (highest was around 40 - according to one of my buddies) every time I wanted to, going upwind further than I had ever before, and experiencing the overall best kiting sessions i've ever had. Needless to say, I left that week with a Screamer 10Ltd Edition in my quiver. My Cabrinha's are being sold now, and I will backfilling my quiver with a Screamer 14 and 7 very soon.

I did try the new Chicken Loop and was impressed as well. Re-engaging the chicken loop was very easy and the mechanism operated very smoothly. I'm one of those few short armed souls, so my only criticism was that it was difficult to reach the trim straps. Dimitri explained why they're so far out and I understood (sucks for me to be in the minority there with the shorter reach, but smart of Epic to adapt bar to the majority of their client base). He added that the trim straps can be adjusted down, but I didn't get him to show me how. Dimitri - If you could put a video together on how to shorten the throw, that would be much appreciated by those who fully intend to buy the bar setup when it's available (like myself).

Dimitri's customer service was spectacular. He sold three other new 3G Screamers to my crew, as the others in my caravan where equally as impressed. Thank you, Dimitri, for introducing us to some great kiteboarding gear, for showing us some great spots and for helping us have a ridiculously fun time! I hope to kite with you again the next time I come down there (I try to make 2-4 day trips a summer down there.)

I'd also like to add a comment about Cameron. Not only is he a sick Kiteboarder for being as young as he is, but he is also quite the gentlemen. He's got great manners and is going to be a fantastic ambassador for this sport when he eventually takes over the Epic empire (just like Dimitri is)!

Thanks again for changing all my future kite sessions for the better (and if my trip in April is any measure, we're talking about a huge degree better)! Now if only I could get work to slow down so I could get some more sessions in, but in this economy I shouldn't be complaining about that...

I like the new brand and I've heard great things about your kites. I might be trying them out in the next year. But two things I have to get over.

The URL on the kite. I think you can guarantee that anyone seeing a North, Naish, Slingshot, Epic name on a kite and is interested in looking up your company will be able to find it with a easy Bing or Google search.

Also why put "Kiteboarding" on a kite? It's like having a car that says Chevy Automobiles or a motorcycle that says Honda Motorcycles instead of just Honda. I mean it's a kite, it's a good guess it was made by a kiteboarding company. I understand why you might have it on ad banners or posters etc, but not on the kite itself.

I think in future production if you choose to lose the URL and "Kiteboarding" it would express confidence. The less words on a kite the better it looks to me. My 2 cents.

I hope in your continued success.

+1 on this as well

Hello Mr.aleks,
You guys are correct the less write up the better, but again people that don't know any thing about kiting and want to know more about this sport or the kite need to get to the correct web page when they see a kite in the air. This is the reason why I put the WWW.EPICKITES.COM on the kites so I can direct them to the right URL address instead of another kite company.
But once again thank you very much for your opinion which I do take into consideration.

Hello Mr.Kiteboy23228,
I am very happy you had a great time on the EPIC kites. This is the reason why I am doing all these demos because I know the end result.
:D
Any way, I am sorry but I meet so many people and do so many demos world wide which makes it impossible for me to remember the faces or names but I did do a video on "HOW TO REACH THE DEPOWER/POWER STRAP" because of few people having a hard time reaching the strap because of their short arms. And you were probably one of them. So I dedicate this video to you.
