OP has a complete lack of knowledge in fluid dynamics. Thus to him it presents as a silly question.
So..... Before posting a silly question here consider who will be the one being mocked. Question poster or silly question uploader.

The OP post was:
...
1. Why are pumps cylinders and pistons round? :winner2:
2. Why are pump bases flat?
....

The connection with fluid dynamics is very tenuous. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
By-the-way these two remain all time winners. :winner2:

New Open Competition: Best suggestion to improve Kiteforum.

1st Winner 14ToeSide, on deleting some Other Thread :winner2: :winner1: :winner2:

Posters who complain here have no idea how windless days affect a rider's psyche.

Well that is not a silly question either!......Coming from a mountain biking background pretty much all "track pumps" have angled bases that A) give better placement of the feet and also angle the cylinder for better back positioning.

To the ignorant its a stupid question. To someone who has a wider knowledge its is a valid question. One worth considering.

Again. Consider your own lack of knowledge/ignorance first before typing and proving it.

Mountains and hills have angled bases, have you ever noticed?
If angling pump bases accordingly for mountains bikes already seems (at least to me the, the ignorant) a far fetched "improvement", it is even more so for kite pumps.

"Pretty much all [track pumps] have angled bases"? Oh really?

Hey, Plummet, this is not supposed to be a serious thread. Fortunately some amongst us got the wacky side of the "flat base pumps" question. In a frivolous thread, the "serious" guys are the trolls. :jump: :jump: :jump:

And now the ranking for the New Open Competition:
"Most serious questions, answers and comments" on Kiteforum

1 :winner2: Peter Frank

2. Plummet

I don't get it. So you pose questions on KF to be on this list. I am just going to assume we have a very different sense of humour.

Agree, so silly to lead so many forum readers all over the world to waste their time :o

Most readers are not native-english either, so eventhough a bit of fun can be okay now and then, this is IMO ridiculous

Seems like a disease (that needs getting help), just like ludomania/alcoholism and similar....

And if you ARE posting any serious questions too, then you could at least be more specific or detailed so everybody knows what you are talking about ?
Dont expect the rest of the world to understand some cheese and maybe local oneliners that only makes sense in your own mind or area

Oneliners from someone who has a reputation "not to write anything that makes sense nomore", will be misunderstood by those not knowing, and laughed at by the rest.

This is meant seriously and not as an "attack" - as I am not sure you are aware yourself, of how these postings seem to appear to all other forum members ?

:-? Peter

Wouldn't be so bad if it was actually funny!

Didn't someone get asked "Do you need a ride back to the airport?"

We always start at the airport where I live so we always need a ride back to the airport.

Those pumps look angled to me.... man its hard to train the ignorant isn't it?
I guess there is no point arguing with an idiot? they simply don't understand?

Now the question is this. Am I being serious? I am I taking the piss out of the piss taker?
