Why aren't there any canard configuration? This should solve the requirement for the rider to adjust to the proper trim angle

Hydrofoils are still in their infancy that's why. I have been building my own hydrofoil boards for fun and my next design is going to be a canard for exactly the reasons you suggest.

Great! :thumb: So me lazy bum don't have to do it myself...
Will it be an open source project :cooltext: , or a copyrighted / patented / intellectual monopoly stuff :movingbutt: ?

Keep us posted please....

Rostrum or no rostrum ?

We're living a great time. Directly inpsired by hot Moth (alien) technology, here is the result of collaboration between Chris Middleton (Fastafoil designer, Montpellier, south of France) and Andrew McDougall the renowned Mach2boats designer. I am speechless... :o :o
Radical is also a fan of rostrum...

100% of the present Moths competing at international level have chosen the rostrum.
The competion will take place in 31 days. All the different designs being back to back for the first time, it will be interesting to see if this detail is essential to be on the podium.
Here are 2 other designs with rostrum:

Radical (as seen on p1)

The Foilboard/Kitefoil worlds event has officially just started with 6 to 7 female riders out of a total of 75 registrations.

Out of the scope of this competion, originally developped with the help of Paolo RISTA and Manu BERTIN, Bruno Andre (AHD designer) windsurf/sup hydrofoil deserves your attention.

Officially introduded during the Paris boat show in dec 2010...

here are a few nice videos showing the assembly procedure and the foil potential during one of those "no white cap days". As I know that some of you are windsurf fans, please pay attention to the extended sail outline under the wishbone.

The board + hydrofoil is produced in limited series around 5000 to 6000 euros so don't complain about the kitesurf gear equipment price :naughty: :naughty: Prepreg + autoclave technology is very costly.

Gliding by 5 to 12 knots / 7.5sqm sail - Bruno weights 183 lbs / 83kg

Yes, it is possible to jibe airborne ' 0:27)

The Remi design looks like it would be compatible with my Carafino foil.

Btw. I should take a pic of it...it is a beautiful piece of equipment. The carbon details are really nice.

Im all for open sourcing. Thanks to open sourcing and Decays yahoo board building site kiteboards are what they are today and wakeboards are finally catching up thanks to us backyard builders who were always ahead of the curve.

I don't know anything about hydrofoils, anyone wanna share basic plans with me? My goal is to figure out a simple garage build.

Here's my contribution to the open sourced hydrofoil future. I've always heard of the fixed pitch needing to much rider input and the need for a self correcting fin.
Solution: Use a bushing that allows for the proper auto pitch adjustment
