You'll find some info here.. http://kitefoil.forumactif.org/f28-diy-building-advice
"The where do I start ?" post points to another one containing a blueprint with dimensions (mm=)

About the event, not much info yet, just 100+ picts here:

Some news from http://www.kiterace.fr/2012/05/Championnat-du-Monde-de-Kitefoil-La-Ciotat-jour1.html

Quote:
Day1, after three races in a wind of 15 to 20 knots, 5 french riders have taken the lead : Renaud Madier then Marc Blanc, Herve Rousseau, Maxime Nocher and Nicolas Caillou.

Day 2, in a wind of 12 to 15 knots, the organization has decided to launch an original race format. The courses will be cross wind with a qualification system, a kind of slalom where speed is the most important factor ...

Pictures of the 2012 models. They are presented in 2 families, legacy design (Carafino, Magma, Moses-Ristafins-Skyski-MHL) and high-AR designs (Orana, Spotz, Zeeko, Radical).
Obviously, the French designers are 100% into the high-AR option...

I'm looking to buy my first foil and all the different shapes and styles is making choosing one difficult. Could Europ2 or someone else share some more information about the positives and negatives of high and low AR designs? I read some other information about high-AR designs having more lift and less drag, but also being more fragile.

I also noticed some foils are curved downwards and some are flat. What is the purpose of the downwards curve?

Some of the Tbar masts are angled or curved forward (Zeeko), some backwards (spotz), some straight (Magma) Is one better than the other? Easier to ride?

Any help would be appreciated.
