I put an onboard air system on my truck. You can get a higher pressure 10 gal tank and fill it to 145 psi and it should fill a kite with ease. My rig is a Vair compressor with a 20gal tank that has a pressure switch from 110 to 145psi. I have a regulator set at 60 psi so it does not inflate so fast that it damages the bladder. I still have too run tubing under my bed to the bumper and install a moisture trap and quick connect. Waiting for the wind to die down first.

That is sweeeeeet. Though there is still potential for over inflation. I guess the flow rate is to slow if you dial the reg down to 9psi. I still think an over pressure device is required. A small 1/8th npt 10 psi cracking pressure check valve mounted inline on a tee would work......

I'm not sure if that would work as the back pressure might be more than that. All so my inflation nozel is high flow low pressure. The chance of over pressure is there but all you have to do is pay attention while inflating. That is why I have the regulator so it does not inflate too fast.

I use a fire department SCBA tank with an adaptor to an oxygen regulator then to a quick disconnect hose and air gun.

If you get in good with a fire department they can fill it cheap or for free if you find a guy that kites.

The tank holds 3000psi and will fill a 13m kite about 6 times. The regulator is gauged for 0-30psi so I can dial it in accurately in to 10psi so it won't overinflate my kite.

They are paintball adapters for scuba tanks. They run as low as $16. I just bought one and will let you know how it works.

They use a regular paintball tank with an adapter and supposedly one tanks is good enough to pump up a 10m kite 5 times. These can be re-filled at any paintball shop for 1-2$ with air, nitro or CO2 and the same adapter goes on scuba tanks.

Might be a viable alternative.

The volo seems a bit pricey, it is $250.

You can get a generic scuba tank - even a pony bottle if you want a small one and get a regulator - like the one I posted, for
much less than $250.

They also sell PB tanks with high pressure regulators for much less $100 range, you would still need to get a regulator, but they are typically under $60.

Here is a zeagle pony bottle for $53, plus about $25 for the regulator adapter and maybe $10 for a hose.

a regular scuba tank (80 is supposed to fill 12-15 9m kites or 8 or so 14m kites).

I think the smaller bottles are actually a good idea as you can carry them. The zeagle holds 30cf so about 6 9m kites or 4 14m kites

In texas we can drive on the beach so I will just leave the tank in the bed of the truck (I already own a scuba tank)

The SCBA tank is a beat up fiberglass wrapped tank so it's pretty light.. have to be able to wear it into burning buildings.
