Whenever the wind gets up, we get "waves" on the lake, perpendicular to the wind (usually) so of course, riders go tacking out
across the waves ... the directional guys like to carve them up downwind. They, like everyone else here, have a habit of not looking around before they turn so it's a bit of a crap shoot trying to get upwind sometimes on a straight tack, with surfer dudes gybing downwind like nutters in front of you

Not a huge problem as we're all enjoying the stoke

we're pretty lucky with a long beach so we can usually clear each other and still have beach downwind. It's just disconcerting to see someone go blasting past you the "wrong" way
