I'm thinking of popping down to Mauritius (direct flight from Bombay). Wind stats look all right. Would I really be much better off coming in July?

May is normally a good month....the exception was last May, but thats unusual.
I normally prefer May to July - reason being that the wind tends to be good and its typically a lot warmer.
The June / July period can be suprisingly cool (on the east coast anyway) ...in May its still (usually) hot and if you're unlucky with wind, you can go wakebarding every day in any case.
Its hard to have a bad time in Mauritius.

This season is not at all like any previous year. We have had a very mild summer cyclonic season (no wind period usually), and some record winds for this time of the year. Now it looks like the month of may is june conditions. Anticyclones are already influencing the weather and conditions are epic. Worth the gamble if you ask me. June will also work, but the crowds will also be there then. Give us a shout when you are here and come and kite the north of Mauritius too. Nico
