Hi guys,
I've been riding for 3 years and i've just sold my old kite and i'm looking for a cheap upgrade. i've found this two kites in a nice price. My main goal is wave, next is freeride and jumps. I know that the Torch is C-Shape, i've never ride a C-Shape before but can this kite help me to advance in the sport?
I'm 90kg and riding a 5.9 board, the Torch is 2010 10m and the Rev is 2009 11m
I'll appriciate any advise, tnx.

Sorry I can't compare the two since I've never flown a Torch. I have the 7m, 9m, 11m and 13m Rev 2009's. My 11m is awesome. Steady flyer, great depower. I started with the 13m, loved it, and worked my way down to the 7m. Since I have been kiting (5 years), I have flown lots of kites. I have flown new 2011 Cabrinha Switchblades, 2011 Ozones, 2011 Ocean Rodeo Razors, 2011 Liquid Force Havocs, older Best Waroos, GK sonics, 2009 Eclipse thrusters and 2010 Epic Screamers.
They all have pulled me through the water but I always appreciate the steady, relatively quick nature of my Revs. I think the most important quality of the REVS is their refined flying style. An 11m is an 11m. Not like some of the new kites where a 11m pulls like a 13m.
Maybe your choice should come down to bar style... The Slingshot is below the bar and can get stuck under high wind and tension. There is so much depower on the bar however that it really doesn't bother me too much. Don't know about the Naish bar but I remember in REAL store not liking it as much as the SS bar (I'm speaking of the 2009-2010 era bars).

Torch is a fun, fast kite. Definitely nice for all unhooked stuff, whether freestyle or waves. It is also great for boosting, it really sends you sky high, when you take off correctly.
It is not a bow kite though, so you have to know how to edge your board to have a nice windrange on it. It also pulls hard when you turn it, so if you like to yank your kite hard in the waves, it might not be the best kite out there.
Don't know anything about Rev though.

Dude, get the Torch, never ridden a Rev but the Torch is just so much fun! Don't worry about it being a C kite they are nothing like old traditional C kites - they have the feel and performance for sure but also have the user friendly parts of bow/SLE kites like decent depower and windrange, easy relaunch and easy self launch and landing. They feel nice and solid at the bar and always hold their shape no matter how much pressure you put on them I have heard the Revs are great for jumping but are very very grunty and not so good for unhooking. Finally, Torch will be worth more than the Rev if you ever decide to sell it.
