New North Evo 2012 de-flate valve leaking
Brand new, just noticed it today. It leaks in the valve, not at the bladder. I touch it and it stops for a bit.
Then it leaks again. WTF?
Anyone else has this? Is there a lube or something I can use?
I always open it and leave it open in the bag, just as with all kites.
Is there a fault I am not aware of?
Don't want to get fubared in the middle of the ocean on day.
Other then that, love the kite.
PS: It's a 9m 2012
Thanx

I always clean the stopper by popping it in my mouth before sealing, works a dream and helps the stopper slide in.
Behave you lot :)

Eager to know if it's another of the infamous North valve delamination cases... my 2012 is holding up so far but all other years (mine and everybody I know) were leaking like a sieve after a few months. (Fingers crossed for me! Maybe 2012 is the lucky year?) :jump:

I have around 20 north kites since Feb of 2011. Not a single delamination, or valve issue with any of them... I have ripped or popped a few of course..but totally my fault

The valve is NOT de-laminating from bladder! It's leaking in the valve, between the nipple and the hole.
No idea what it's called.
Just not a tight fit. Seems like it anyway.
Will let you know if it happens again. No wind lately.

Well it's good news then and easy to fix. Lots of info on the web on how to enlarge the valve cap by dipping in boiling water, forcing up the cap a round object (I use drill bits of appropriate size) so the rubber expands, then dipping in ice water and the cap retains the larger diameter. Voila tight fit.
