How is the size of the Gambler compared to e.g. Team or Select?

How is the lowend and highend and the ability to keep the edge compared to those boards?

Which is the better size for 65kg rider 136*41 cm or 139* 42 cm if looking Gambler more on low and medium wind range than high winds?

I have been riding the Gambler for a few weeks now. I weigh 215 lbs / 97 kg.

I have been riding wake shaped boards for the last few years in the 144 and 142 sizes. I would have ordered the 142 Gambler but through a twist of fate I wound up with the 139 and am very happy with it. it is very light (and so far durable) with a channeled bottom that make it ride sooo well finless, Ive had it out several times in overpowered conditions and did not have trouble holding the edge. I think it outperforms the other boards in lighter wind.

The Team board will crush the Gambler in underpowered conditions. The Team is flat and stiff resulting in a fast planing upwind machine. Ive not ridden the select but would be willing to wager that it too will be an upwind rocket. and both with 5cm fins and flat rocker will hold more power in the edge.

I'd still get you a 136 Gambler though for a funner ride in chop and waayyy softer landings, get the 139 if you live in a lighter wind area.

Yup..I am 80k and have the select 135 and a gambler 139. The select has a much better low end then the gambler. The Select edges very well, has bigger fins so It also has more range, the gambler will hold down a wound up kite though.

I think the 139 feels fine for my size but if you haven't been riding wakestyle boards be ready for a powerloss.

I am waiting for my boots to arrive since I dont want to put my old boots on this board, I am riding straps in till they get here. I am sure the boots will make it feel even smaller, but I am riding straps on my Select also, there is huge differences in these two boards.

I think you will have a good time with either size at your weight

Thanks.

I have been riding 132*39,5 Select that checks the most of the boxes in a widerange we have here. I am very happy with that board. However I though that I could get another board that would be a little different ride but wanted to push more to wakestyle and maybe visit a cable that was just built close by. This is why I would not want to get the Team as I have ridden that type boards and like the softer feel of the Select so much more.

To summarize if I want to get a board that gets going at least from the same wind than the Select I could go to 139. Normally it is choppy here when it starts to blow so the lesser wind I can go out the more flat it is.

If I want to have it out on stronger winds or häve a bit wider windrange with Gambler, I could go with the 136 but then it will be about on the same windrange than the Select.

I was thinking of having it with straps and also boots to see which I like better. And for sure boots would be nicer behind a boat or when riding in a cable park.
