yes I guess no one really cares
I'm still slightly interested in who Officiates over the Hawaiian record and what the rules are governing Hawaiian record attempts etc without these things a 'record' is merely hearsay and takes away from those who have truely set records under a set of rules and conditions.
To much to ask?
I would be interested to see Damo results published on the Gps speedkiting site so we can at least see some sort of validity. www.gps-kitesurfing.com

Windsurfers have a Hawaiian speed contest based on GPS over 100m.

I think the windsurf official open ocean world record is 44.35 knots over 500m by Bjorn Dunkerback at Tarifa many years ago. That was over a set course, officially timed - not the best GPS section.

Official recognition? it's a crock of 5hit. "Endorsed by ISAF" screw that bull5hit too!

When serious though with a real high speed (top 10 of year..) u do seem to need 2 preferably 3 GPSs and publish the results of all 3 to be taken seriously - that is cool though - no need for all the messing around sucking up to whatever "body" seems to think you should pay them homage by endorsing it.

I'm also interested in the "efficiency" concept. "How fast in how much wind?" is a great question. I know (GPS) I've hit 20 mph in conditions that don't generate any whitecaps on my local lake. Typically whitecaps start to form in about 12 mph of wind. This was with a 15m Varial X Race on a Sector 60 V1. That seems pretty efficient, probably around twice the wind speed. I'm also curious how the efficiency curve drops off with increasing wind speed. I'm guessing that around 10 mph of wind speed is where you'll see the best efficiency, but I don't know. It would be fun to get some hard data on it (I'm kinda a math/science geek that way).

Yea that looks like fairly bumpy water over a bottom you don't want to wipe out on. Nice runs all round. Gratz!

Pretty :cooltext: that you also like "efficiency concept"

Can we go 2.32 times the wind speed on the water under kite?

If so.... at what wind speed can we do that? What is the optimum efficiency wind speed for kites?
