Looks like it's about time for a showdown between disciplines!

it doesn't need a showdown. It just needs to happen.

hey great :D finally they understand that air style is a part of kitesurfing.
and don't forget that people can kite until 60 years old even pretty more. so if the industry of kitesurfing want to keep everybody full interested they MUST add this discipline to the kite 's world.
i m just 37 and already broke my ligaments, knees , etc..
i keep going on with old school and have a lot of fun with hooked style. i m absolutely not frustrated to do not pass the bar with all kind of new tricks because of toby 's air style which makes me dream and go forward more and more day after day. :mosh:
:chorus: long life to air style

Thx for that comment!

What others don't understand is, that I get that feedback daily!
That is exactly why I am pushing it! If it would just be me, I wouldn't care!

More to come ;-)

I can't wait to see the videos from the competition! I'd much rather watch Toby's airstyle than the same old handlepasses, but that's just me. To each their own. I think there are enough people who prefer airstyle to have a competition.

Airstyle kicked off the day early on and began with competitors such as Ariel Corniel (DR), Alvaro Onieva (ESP), and Gisela Pulido (ESP) who showed off their big airs and best board-off maneuvers. Oneiva contributed a lighthearted touch to the event, wearing a costume bull’s head in his heat that he eventually won. At the end of the final heats, Onieva and Pulido proved victorious.

i guess now we have proof that AIRSTYLE is not AIR-Ballet! or to say - air-ballet has nothing to do with style!
:D :D :D

People can criticise Toby but I've been trying some old school recently and IT IS HARD! Airstyle is definitely a discipline that requires a huge amount of training to get anywhere near Toby's level! 99% of riders will never be able to pull off Airstyle like that. MASSIVE RESPECT!!!
