Could anyone recommend somewhere to take my family where I can kitesurf, but they can do other things ;)

My wishlist would include;

Nice reliable wind (but not nuking)
Waist deep smooth water (no monster shore dump)
Hotel (all inclusive) on the beach, or at worst a very short walk
Things for children (creche, activities, for a 9yr & 5yr old)
Things for the wife (pool, yoga, excursions that kind of stuff you know...)
nice warm water
Not mega expensive

Sorry to ask but I don't know where to start.
Too much choice & have never had such a holiday before.

Thanks in advance :)

I've got the same sort of deal, minus the children, which definitely help. I've been to Mexico, Grand Cayman, and Aruba.

Grand Cayman has the best kiting by far, but is really expensive. There is one all-inclusive but it is not near anything else on the east end. I kited up at Barkers, about 15 min from the main strip of hotels.

Mexico, there's great all inclusives which are really affordable considering everything you get. The kiting wasn't great, but I was there in May which was off-season, and at a hotel with a less than favorable launching zone.

Aruba actually was pretty fun, but construction of a new hotel is making an already notoriously gusty area (Fisherman's Huts) even worse. Boca Grandi is about a 45 min drive though.

I'd check St. Lucia and maybe Antigua as well, the problem is that most hotels are not going to be situated on the windward side of the Caribbean islands for good reason, most normal people do not want to be wind-blown while sipping their fruity drinks. We, of course, are freaking out knowing there's wind on the other side of the island.

Good luck

AH, what time of year? Where are you based? How far are you prepared to travel?

West Coast, look left on the map, Thailinand for really light winds, Philippines, Boracay has flat ish water Nov-Mar NE trade winds, heaps to do for the familly 600m away from the kite beach. Hotels on the kitebaeach or white beach.

East coast. Look right and contemplate Tenerife or other islands off the African coast. Euro is plunging so pick up a deal.

DRC
Currently somewhere in Africa
