[quote="Pump me up" Crew who ride in sandy areas (e.g. beaches) tend to like one-pump whereas crew who ride where there are a lot of sharp rocks, shells, sticks, weeds, etc, tend to prefer multiple pump[/quote]

Yep

I converted my '08 Best Nemesis HP from a one pump to a multi pump. Unnecessary parts cause unnecessary down time.

Do you see any irony in this statement? ;-)

the debate can never be resolved. it's merely subjective. but i wouldn't say most people have them so that's why most companies make them. i think it's the other way around; most companies make them, and that's why most people have them. i think if all companies offered both options, many more kiters would opt for multi-pump systems.

when one pump first came out, everyone was like 'cool!'. but now that we know the pros and cons, i think there's a different attitude. personally, i won't buy another kite with one pump, and so that limits the brands i can consider.

I still think it is only a minority that dont want one-pump.
And of course these will "fight" the hardest for multipump, so will appear as a BIG group in a thread like this.

As I might have said before - I have not really met anyone around who dont want it, so a very small number.

But I've met many who deliberately has been pissed because a certain kite they fell in love with did NOT have onepump - so they chose another kite/brand because of this
So a deal breaker the other way around too, for some

For many it is more than just "nice to have", onepump :thumb:

A bit off the topic though - as I would just state what the balance seems to be between onepump and multipump demands.

As the real topic issue is "which kites dont use one-pump ?" - and should be adressed so it is possible to choose these kites :naughty:

:D Peter

i agree it's a minoirty that don't want one pump. but most folks just take what they're offered, and what they're mostly offered is one pump. and my bet is if i never had to replace an LE bladder, i'd prefer one pump too. but unfortunately, i've had to several times, and it ain't fun with one pump.

kind of an odd statement. i haven't MET any porn stars, but i know they're out there.

no doubt true.

there are so few of them, i think that specific topic has already been fully addressed.

I saw it, but, the following names are not recognized by kiters even though they are more appropriate. :)
Net reduction of parts pump
Simplicity pump
KISS pump

I don´t like one-pump eighter... would buy everything with single-pump if I could...
The Kahoona still comes as a single pump option luckily ;)

Put me down as a one-pump hater. I don't see the point. If you're leaving a multi-inflation kite with the struts inflated, it takes no extra time to inflate. If pumping struts & LE, maybe a couple of extra minutes. Completely DE-flating my one pump takes more than an extra couple of minutes. The extra valves & bits 'n' pieces add a little weight, complexity, more things to potentially fail & whole lot more hassle to fix.

Another vote for no one pump. If you live in a tropical environment, valve delams are a fact of life on most kites over a year old. So until they get that fixed, I would prefer no one pump!
