Hi kiteforum. Hope to get some advice: I'm after a new kiteboard and can get a good deal on a 2009 Slingshot Misfit 136cm or a 2010 Nobile NHP 134cm. The boards are very different when it comes to rocker: Nobile has a lot, Slingshot is more flat. I'm riding in waters with small chops and I weigh 63 kg (140 lbs). Any advice is much appreciated. Maybe someone even knows both boards? Thanks

first of all, why do you need a board so big with your weight ???
misfit is flatter, heavier, has a narrower stance, better upwind and more suitable for beginners.
nhp has bigger rocker, it is lighter, better in choppy waters and has wider stance options

I had a 2010 NHP- very, very good board. Great for choppy-choppy, very forgiving landings, good pop-a-doodle-doo, and very good upwind.....
But I agree- why so big? I weigh +/- 80kg and I was on a 134x42

134 is not big for a rockered board, i ride a 133x41 and 137x42 at 65 kg
it has more to do with the board and what you do with it than your weight.... hadlow rides a 138 for example...

But nobile has 42cm width .... and hadlow is 40cm? I would go with 131x40. I am myself 75-76kg and sometimes 134x42 is too big. Well...it rocks in lightwind but....

Thanks for the input.
I just recently started to jump, but my ambition is to improve this. So mainly freestyle/freeride. I got an advice from a shop to buy a 134-136 cm board, so thats why I found the two mentioned boards. Also, the wind is often light in my area... Anyway, I can see your point in getting a shorter board, at least if it's got a relatively flat rocker. I will keep looking at the secondhand market.

i thought the misfit was more advanced to expert rider profile . i see some pro,s use it in the pkra this year. myself i got the misfit 142 (2012) i am 95 kilogram and ride winds 12 to 20 knots (wakestyle ) i am quite happy with it it has powerful pop ,nice upwind, forgiven landings. i think u cant go wrong with the misfit 136 if u have often lightwinds as well! nice board to me!

NHP is a full-out pro board. Its very stiff, has some rocker to soften the landings etc. ... all you need from a good board. Yet the dizing is quite odd for me imo. I mean for my 75 kgs 131x40 is a bit too small while I would consider 134x42 a big board. Remember - its both length and width that matter... I would dare to say that width is the more important dimention.
