Check the Brazilian locations...I think the south gets good waves and has wind in August.

i am in a land of world class waves and wind machine.

Put Taranaki new zealand on your list of places to ride waves.

August is mid wind winter. 3-4mm wet suit material. Though we do get winter storms that bring 4-6m sell and 20-40 knots its not as predictable as the spring westerlies.

Oct, nov, dec is a better time to visit.

Thanks a lot for your information..but I think that the perfect place for my needs is Mauritus during this period...sun+wind+waves+perfect sea...and at the end of my all day long session one great sandwich with marlin...

West Australia! We have some of the best wind and waves in the world! And if you head north you will get your big wave fix! However you will have to make your own sandwhich at most of the isolated locations. The only question that stands is, are you man enough to take on the west aussie dessert!

Maui...TOP...my dream...mystic...terrible beautiful..super in Winter for kiting and surfing...during the summer not so real waves...but the only place where I would like to live...

Ohau...similar to Maui but too commercial...too city...too low mystic...Hawaiian island but too similar a big American city...great for waves during the summer too..

Mauritius...you can find the best wind statistic ( wind+waves) during the European summer...I came from Italy and this is the final destination for the European that have holidays during August and want to find wind+waves pratically everydays!

Bali...I have visited last year only for one week ( in August)...3 days of wind and waves the other no wind and great waves...waves are PERFECT!!! But I consider a great place for surfer...not kitesurfer...anyway it's one of the best place in the world...

Spain...Portugal...France...very similar...but in Portugal ( El Guincho..and close spots) you can find some conditions incredible for Europe...

Capo Verde...Fuerteventura...beautiful ( and Fuerteventura is for me a small maui...but without tree...) very mystic!
Sardinia...Greece ( many islandsduring the summer nuclear wind but not waves...)...Marocco ( one of the best right waves of the world during swells)...Denmark (beautiful but you need wetsuites in August!).. Sicilia...

WA is another dream...but alone ( this time I am alone!!!) it's not so a easy thing...many friends have alredy visited those places and their stories are so beautiful ( for waves and isolated stories...)...
