No go is when its blowing less than 15 and the babes are lining up, then I rather enjoy the view and take some shots to share while waiting for it to pick up.

Or, when it was blowing southish at this spot,

So you are going out when the wind is 45 degree offshore ? (as one can only assume north to be up, when you havent shown any orientation legends).

Do you have backup boat(s) then ?

I would never go out alone in that wind direction :(

The beaches are small and surrounded by cliffs in the fjord where the image is from, there you need to use a different spot for each wind direction basically. No babes to make up for the trip around there, so anything over 10 is a go.
A tricky area to kite in, but safe in they way that you will always float ashore somewhere ;) also plenty of boats if its not blowing to much, sea rescue squad nearby and always people observing from land.
Awesome place to go storm kiting and when you like some flat water you get that in the ferry wake :)

hahaha.. indeed. They are less keen when they discover its not a young studd busting big floaty airs in front of them but a 40 year old dude... Also blokes, want to have a go, kids want to have a ride, dogs love to chase and old ladies say "that looks like fun.... if only i was 30 years younger" horses however not that pleased with the big bright coloured thing zipping around the sky!

One hour drive, perfect conditions, great waves..... forgot my helmet.

Quite a few rocks on the beach....

Said no out of respect for my wife and kids....

Other times if something does not feel right I'll say no and advise others.

A few months ago it was not feeling right. Jabs of power in the kite and wind shifting in a weird way.
I smelt the smell of herbs from the hills despite the wind being side onshore.

I decided to put down my kite.

A few minutes later an experienced kiter was injured just after launching. Chopper evac and all.

Follow your instincts and be more vocal about why you are saying NO.
