I would expect a full course to get me up to board starts but it's would not be wise to promise that as everyone has a different learning speed.
I keep my catamaran at a buddy's house for $100 a month rent ; lately he's bin trading me
rent, to teach his 16 year old son to kite. The soccer players leave the park at 9:pm
and the sprinklers come on at 11:pm and it usually blows 2 to 5mph, so that's two hours
each lesson on my 10M PL Venom. I use a boat-bilge blower with Li-Polly battery's, to blow
the ram-air kite up.
It took two lessons, before he grasped how to pull up the kite to 45deg then turn it for forward
speed , and do up or down turns depending on the energy and wind speed, to keep it flying.
My 26 year old new neighbor was a helicopter mechanic in the Army, and she was flying
the kite with the same understanding as the 16 year old ------------------------- within 45min !
Turns out the lesson to the girl was Worth it ; she designed me a foot for my prosthetic that
is WAY better than stock "State of the Art" ; wish I had the same type of creativity. That girl
should be taking mechanical engineering classes in college , instead of working as another
cute waitress in a Vegas casino.
YEP -- everyone has a different learning speed.
