Anyone know if I can remove the spring and replace it with the 2010 Overslide body ( http://kiteboarding.com/proddetail.asp? ... slide_body ) as found on the 2010 Cab bar? I've been using the 2012 bar with the recoil spring and find a pain when after completing a back roll, I let go of the bar to spin it, and the bar goes all the way to the top. I want something that is like a stopper ball so the bar doesn't get pulled so far away from me when I let go of it.

I'd imagine that would be an issue for 2013 Chaos users that do lots of rotations.

I noticed that the lines have changed for the 2013 bar. Are they the same as the ones found 2010 bar?

Finally, does anyone know if I can fit a smaller chicken loop on the normal Quicklink bar as found on the Siren bar?

Check with Cabrinha, I think the part you need comes complete with the trim system, it's not just a case of getting the stopper ball and putting it on, so worth seeing if changing this affects the kite at all, although I don't see why it should? I looked at getting a replacement on my 2008 kites but couldn't source one, I think that'll be your main problem, unless you have an old one to hand.

I have the 2011 IDS kites ones and don't find the problem you have with the recoil, I think it was a great innovation, there just seems to be enough tension to keep the kite flying when you unspin, maybe unspin a bit faster :D . I also find the spring much better in the waves than the old stopper ball; if you miss a trick with the recoil the kite stays in the air for quite a while and this extra second or two allows you to regain control. I found with the old stopper ball, that after time, it would always pop out, unless you really cranked up the tension. All mine eventually wore down and stopped working anyway. Less bits to wear out and break on the recoil in my opinion. Is the tension ok on the spring .. not too weak??

Not sure about your lines or chicken loop query, sorry

Yeah I sent cabrinha a message yesterday so I'll see what they say when they get back to me. Yeah, the spring tension on the 2012 bar that I tried was so soft that as soon as I let go of the bar it compressed the spring all the way back to the top and was a real stretch having to get the bar back after each in spinning.

I fly airush kites at the moment , but am not particularly happy with their bar, so I'm looking at replacing it with a cab bar. However this is the only thing that I don't like about the bar. If I could find a fix for this, it would be perfect!

Not sure how the Cab bars will tie in with other kites as they're designed to work in conjunction with the IDS bridle - be careful!

That doesn't sound right with the spring though, I wipe out loads and most of the time the kite will just sit there, the bar certainly shouldn't fully compress the spring when you're just unspinning after a trick, I'd maybe try a new spring, probably easier to source as well.
