Recommendations on the east coast

Looking for Good learning spot with shallow water anywhere on the east coast. Have been going to the OBX but looking somewhere closer for weekends. Any recommendations would be highly appreciated.

I am situated in Upstate NY. So anywhere within 3-4 hrs drive.
I am also looking for an instructor around the area.

How far upstate? Check out best kite center in amityville NY. They go out in the great south bay, and are great for lessons,
