It probably was a bit wreckless to jump it with people on the pier, but it wasnt exactly packed on that day from the looks of it. From what I read they tried to get permission from the Pier but they refused. A little while after that jump I was doing a downwinder passed Brighton Pier on a light wind day with some friends and the lifeguards were going nuts on the beach with loud speakers shouting "STAY AWAY FROM THE PIER" - I think they thought we were going to try and jump it as well
